I haven't seen Perm Repair in YEARS! I am talking high school...:ohwell:

I wasnt a huge fan of it. I basically used it when I wanted to moisturize my hair. It never "repaired" my hair...just mositurize.

Yah, a real long time for me too!

I don't remember the moisture angle. I just remember it being very greasy.
I would use it to slick my hair back, cover it with a scarf, remove the scarf and attach my curly hair piece to the back of my head.

Girl, my hair was so slick (aka greasy). If a fly landed on my head I swear he would have slipped and break his leg.

Can't ya just see the fly on his little crutches? Limping and cussing me out?

Ok..it's late/early..I'm going to bed.

Yeah, I wasn't much of a fan of it either in high school. But my mother was a huge fan of it and it was the only moisturizer she kept in the house, so I stuck with it. Once I graduated from high school and started making my own loot and buying my own hair products, I quit using it.

Yes, my mom too. Along with that Optimum moisturizer. Ewww!

I used to love that stuff back in highschool..

but when I bought it in the more recent years I didn't like it... it made my hair feel stiff:perplexed and I gave it away.... I am wondering if they changed the ingredients in the last decade!

Yeah this product was pretty gross. My mom actually still uses it...it has mineral oil AND petrolatum...and it pretty much does nothing for my hair...:nono:

those ingredients don't really bother my hair unless it's listed high up on the ingredients list:sad:.. that probably is the main reason why my hair felt so stiff when I tried it again.

I'd say Maybe.

It is not good as a base moisturizer for me, but I would use it to seal like I would with Vitapointe or something. I could never use it like a leave-in like I prefer with my moisturizers.

My mom used to use this stuff on my hair back when I was in elementary school, when my hair was relaxed. Honestly, I don't remember if it moisturized or repaired my hair or not. My hair was always greasy as she would slather grease on my hair on a daily basis.:look:

I still have some in the cabinet under my sink! I've been thinking about using it on my ends lately, how funny! I stopped using this stuff because of the placenta (I have fibroids), but my recollection of the product is how wet it is, forget about using it on styled hair. I would only use it prior to styling, for protection and before sealing.

It's not greasy as vitapointe. When I first used it I loved it but the second time my ends were a little stiff, hard , rough feeling. I think maybe i used too much. The jury still out on this. However, I just love the smell:)

Does anyone know how this compares to LIV?

Maybe...After I joined this site, I went old school -- con red & yes, perm repair. I had not used it since high school because it was greasy & I hated the smell. something has changed w/the formula though. I like it now. I like the way it smells now & I use a small amount on my ends after moisturizing to seal & give them a little protein since I didn't really like the ORS carrot oil & this was much cheaper. (I find the Proctectiv Growth Lotion greasier.) I don't use it on my whole head & I don't use it everyday. The consistency is similar to Liv & Vitapoint, IMO, but the others don't have protein, if I remember correctly.

It seem drying. . . But it dose slick down! I use it every once in a while. . . I like the smell. . . but then i like how everything smell
