Random Hair Thoughts/Thinking out loud

I did what I’m not supposed to do. I cut my hair based on some YouTube videos from (mostly) straight haired people.

I did a Wolf cut. It was impulsive. My husband was skeptical. Even my dog was over my hair antics this weekend.

And it’s probably the best hair cut I’ve given myself at home. I recents went from waist length to BSL then back to a little past waist length. But I had some health problems that led to repeatedly losing inches in random areas to breakage. I went to waist length in the longest layers. However, by cutting layers I was able to get into the rough areas that have been bugging my the most. I liked my hair loose with conditioner and while it was shrinking as I styled my hair. I just put in chunky braids for a braid out. Hopefully I will still like it in the morning.

I'm getting all excited like its mine and I'll be the one trying it out. That's a great saving, a good time to make the leap, I can't wait to hear how it turns out.

I ended up getting the Tymo Ionic Plus, the Tymo Flipro, and the WavyTalk Air Sculpt. It funny because on one hand, I'm looking forward to seeing how the products work for my hair, but at the same time, I'm not feeling a need to rush to do it. It's been a long time since I used any heat tools like these.

I bought this at the beginning of the month and used it to press my hair during the first week of April. It's an 8/10.

I love the like the concept, but the quality doesn't meet my standards. The blow dryer works well, eventhough prefer ionic blow dryers for better moisture retention. I like the comb inserts, but I plan to file down the seams and coat them to prevent snagging and make them seamleess.

The flat iron is Conair/Remington "good enough" quality, but not excellent quality. I am used to multi-layer ceramic irons flat irons that work way better. So, I intend to add Teflon tape to the plates to improve the performance. I am critiquing it because I see how amazing it could be. I know I still love it and will modify it into amazing. This is a better tool concept than some of the tools that are staples, but my staple tools are higher quality than this tool. I'm keeping it.

Which of your tools would you rate a 10/10?

Very innovative fixes that work! I'm glad it's working out, and you're happy with the performance.

For the price of Shark tools you shouldn't need to do anything to it. It is always so annoying when you get a product, it functions but could be further elevated to perfect with the simplest tweak.

@Lylddlebit I forgot to ask how the Shark compares with the WavyTalk Air Sculpt. I'm planning on using the paddle brush this week to see how it works, I'm hoping it will be enough for me to be able to use my Splitender.

The 10's of my collection are:
My Kizure Pressing combs
My Kizure Marcels
My FHI Runway Flat Irons (ceramic)
My Gold n Hot Stove
My Torino Wave Brushes (made for men with waves but they are the BEST hair brushes in my collection)
The Sedu XTI Blow Dryer that I got rid of like a fool in 2014 because I thought newer versions would work as well as that one. Big mistake.
My H2Pro Legend Flat Irons (ceramic)
My Hairsense Combs (all of them)
The Charlene 241 Bone Comb
My Olivia Garden Curl brushes
My Brazilian Heat 3/4 curling iron (ceramic)
My LCL Hooded Dryer (on wheels)
My Pibbs 514

I still own everything on this list except the Sedu XTI Ultra Silent Blow Dryer. The price for the Silkipro is up there, but it is still cheaper than the original prices of my other heat tools that are 10's, so I can see where they skimped on those critiques for that price range within the context of the brand. Shark doesn't usually go for luxury, they usually go for mid-grade that works...and my hair is spoiled with luxury lol.

That's a solid list, I'm familiar with most of the items on your list but, the only products sold here in tne UK are the Olivia Garden curl brushes, and we've already established that they are not the same models. I can just about import Hairsense combs, everything else I have had to enjoy vicariously from yourself and others.

I haven't used the Wavvy Talk Air Sculpt because I have the Dyson Airwrap but I do see myself using it more often than my Dyson Airwrap just because a blow dryer that converts to a flat iron matches how I style my hair more than the extra features in my Dyson.

I'm just sitting under the steamer wondering why I decided to commit to meeting up with a few friends this afternoon when I have my hair to be getting on with!

Today is a very important day in my current hair journey, I should be taking my time, taking everything in, instead I'm focusing on the fact that I need to rush.

had to reschedule my braid appointment. Stylist had to take her kid to the emergency room.

new appointment is this Saturday at noon. I'll stick to my late Saturday morning hair appointments from now on

Found one of my old hand written journals. Not many dates in the entries but I did find one that was for 2015, so I must have started it in 2014. I had a list of HG products and info on moisturizing and sealing from SistaSlick. Many of the products are still in existence and if only I had to foresight to stay the course with my then regimen. Oh well, we live and we learn, keep growing hair.

I think those old hand written journals are invaluable. Do you intend to revisit your old regimen? It's great that your old HG products are still available.

In many ways, I have restarted my old regimen. I just can't wear full cap wigs anymore. My hairline has suffered greatly from that.

So I am trying to get out from under my wig. I bought some boho head bands from an Etsy vendor. I tried one on and then I smelled the pack. It was a pack of eight. I couldn't place the smell. Then it hit me MOLD! Hubby confirmed the smell. Immediately my head started burning and itching. Had to wash my hair. Bought anti fungal shampoo that I'll use tomorrow
I assume the product was purchased in India. Shipped here and got wet and moldy in transit. The seller didn't wash them before selling. Getting a refund. Pissed off. This seller shouldn't sell these things.

Finding my journals revealed I didn't need the 15-step process. Just needed good products.

Newbie alert here!:drunk:

I opted for a month trial first and made my first thread alread.

I'm excited to have found this site and to see it's still being used. I wish more people would know about the site to give it an extra push.

Wishing everyone a good and blessed week ;-).
