Sally's is having a sale on salon equipment right now. They have this ionic, tourmaline salon dryer on sale for $88. The sale ends this weekend I believe. It's really short.

This dryer, from what I can tell, is the exact same as the Hot Tools "Purple People Heater" dryer. I used to own one of those. It's a good dryer. It gets loud, but that's probably the worst thing. It has 2 settings and the second setting gets really hot, to the point that you might end up switching to the lower setting several times while your hair dries.

Anyway, $88 bucks is a steal. You have to order through your local Sally's (not online). The sale is nationwide--I asked so that I could tell you guys. ;)

ETA: It's until the 12th.

I had been watched all of AHG videos and I never liked the stylists from see some curls.

I never use butters and oils in my wash and gos but I also always either Prepoo or deep treatment so I never paid them any mind. I’ve been natural a lonnnnnnnng time and figured out my hair from type 3 when I wanna wear it curly because oils/butters weigh it down . In spring summer no butters and oils for stylers and in the winter only oils and butters for stylers (twists/braidouts)in my cold area.

If I live in a humid area I’d only use humectants for stylers but “stylers “ not treatments.

I truly feel for folks but I kinda feel it’s the same thing that happened with divacurl, Mielle, etc.

You truly have to realllllly know your hair and sometimes you’re going to mess it up. Do you know how many times I’ve cut off patches trying to get crochet hair out. Lololl

Folks get heat damaged , or over hydrated hair or protein sensitive hair. I just feel in this situation ole girls had the nastiest attitudes and took people for money( subscription , use these products only and said this is the way )

 I love his commentary. His were the first long form vids I was happy to watch on YT.
I totally agree with you. I’ve jumped on things before- after or while simultaneously doing my own research + risk analysis lol.

These people took these ladies money, claiming to be qualified ‘curl specialists’, and led people up the garden path (some) with know-it-all attitudes, instead of coming from a place of humility and exploration. I don’t want to judge their customers harshly because I liken what happened to them, as what happens when you are out in the world wanting and searching. You can become susceptible to people who are looking to take advantage. And the price they were charging to hack at hair and give cut and paste advice (and hair cuts), seems like they were doing just that.

It’s interesting that this topic just came up yesterday, in the ‘Let’s Normalise’ thread. I hadn’t watched any videos when I replied. I’ve since watched AHG’s video where he talks to Elaine, and now this one.
I tried to watch the whole video but um, girl what, um OK.

I participated in the lady A's digital forum thingee in 2020. For me it was hair changing. When they started, they explained the what and the why and kept telling the ladies we will teach you the basics but you need to learn your hair. Now, I'm not going to defend the A's. Stylist as a whole are a piece of work. Yeah, to be in business they didn't recognize their audience and try to tailor their speech to the whole of the US. Sometimes when you live in some northern cities snark works but yeah. They should have figured that out and changed it. And once they grew I think they had more people who wanted steps versus wanting to learn.

I think if they had stuck with these are the basics you need to understand product selection and learn your hair, they would have faired better. I also think they tried to grow big, fast and they moved away from what made people listen to them in the first place. But what most people want is tell me what to do and what to use and I don't want to learn nothing. And so probably after 6 months for them it was a loosing battle.

So when people repeat what the lady A's said from the beginning, they only give you part of the story. It's unfortunate but that is how communication works.

Unfortunately, there was some good information in what they were trying to teach that has gotten lost in all of the drama. And it definitely is a lot of drama.

I'm going to go back and try to watch this chiles video, but um, I feel sorry for her but what...

Oh and yeah I can understand her being afraid to talk about it because these people and their fan clubs are ruthless. I was in a FB group for the A's method and too much drama for me. I like how we support each other here. And if others are doing what they are doing, we are like Do you! and we keep it moving.
