I hardly hear anyone talk about this line.

The hair dressing with mink oil is very good but that's the only thing I've tried recently.

My old stylist used this relaxer on my hair for years with great results. It got my hair really straight and shiny.

Now that I am doing my own touchups, I have tried name brand high priced relaxers but once I run out I always return to Lady Velvet. I feel I can get the same results for a much lower price.

Hope this helps.

I used this for about a year when I didn't know how to take care of my hair. It only got shorter from intense breakage. I don't like this relaxer at all.

I have used this relaxed for about two years and I'm very pleased with it. Now my mother and most of my freinds have switched to this relaxer.

Anyone got a pic of the box? I've never heard of it until I came to LHCF. Is this lye or no lye?

I used the line when I was in college and I remember I like the sent of the neutralizing poo, it turns pink too until relaxer is out. I used the mild when my hair was blond. I really liked it. I'm an Affirm girl now. :D

It was between Lady Velvet Lye, Mizani Lye, Elasta QP No-Lye, and ORS Lye. Well, Mizani was too expensive. Elasta QP didn't have the neutralizing shampoo where I could find it. So it was between Lady Velvet and ORS. Well, I found LV mink oil, but it's very difficult to find the relaxer. So I ended up with ORS Lye and was very pleased. LV is my second choice, though.

Thanks. I am getting a partial corrective soon since I am getting underprocessed every time I relax. I am researching relaxers trying to decide what to use.

It doesnt seem that it is sold in Sally's. Maybe a few beauty supply stores but I am so scared to by from them after hearing about tainted boot leg relaxers on the board.

IMHO this relaxer is very harsh. An old stylist used this in my hair a few times but I didn't like it at all and it left me with tons of scalp burns and probably contributed to the breakage I was experiencing although I didn't care for my hair then as I do now but still... I would only recommend this relaxer to someone with super coarse hair that is hard to relax. A co-worker of mines daughter (13yo) recently got this relaxer and she said she felt it was too harsh too and her daughter suffered some breakage. She is definitely not using LV again and I won't either. I really like Affirm or ORS. If you do decide to go with LV :nono: make sure you protein treat and moisturize really well.

I used it yesterday. According to my stylist Lady Velvet was THE relaxer to use back in theday. It is very hard to find, especially in Canada. I was going from Motions (aka crap in a tub) to Lady Velvet Yesterday and I must say so far so good. The results are awesome. And NOOOO scalp burns are on my head.

Wow, I totally agree with this post 100%. This darn relaxer is to harsh. Caused me all kind of hair hell. Everyone I know IRL has never had much success with this relaxer either. :nono:

I love this relaxer. I'll be using it tom for my touchup. I use the mild to texlax my hair, leaving it on for 5-7 mins only.
