Bird beak Hair Clamps

I bought two of those cheapy bird beak clamps at the BSS encrusted and so, so pretty. Those things have teeth so I carefully placed one across my french roll this morning. I felt uneasy about the teeth so resolved not to let it move all day to avoid ripping my hair. Luckily for me anything heavy metal near my head causes my head to ache and "know" it is there:burning: so I removed it. Question? Since I like the look, can they be found anywhere with the beak shape but without the biting teeth?
TIA

What about the bear claw ones? Do you have a pic of the bird beak? But the bear claw has large blunt "teeth". As long as the teeth wouldn't get snagged on your hair, it should be fine.

Thanks, Wheezy..that one I have but want a new look for my french roll. Here is a photo of a bird beak clamp. Sharp teeth, I'm looking for similar but with no teeth.

Oh, now i know what you are talking about. There's also one called the octopus clip. I probably would actually have to take a picture and upload it.

I found a pic.

Softresses, thank you!!! I looked back after finally making the SEARCH function operate...I found a post of hers which listed many vendors for hair accessories and found some toothless bird beaks. YEE-HAW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Can you link the thread or the vendor please? :) I have a clip just like yours, (well similar, mine is grey and plastic with embeded rhinestones-- I paid about 1.00 at oddlots) I dont know whether or not it has teeth, tho.

I love these. (the one you listed in your attachment.) I get mine from Claires. Love them!

I like the Scuncii ones at the BSS they are not fncy they come in two colors black and brown but they have no teeth. I own a couple. Works for when you are on the go for a good protective style. I always have on in my bag.

I bought some of the smaller ones (walmart) and they're sooooo cute for pigtail pin-ups.:yep:

I had some of those bird beak clamps. And they tore my hair off. These are not made very well. The bottom of the clip, on the edges, are to sharp and the top teeth are to sharp which is not so good for the hair. My daughter uses them now for her baby dolls.

just a warning.................Ficcare makes a better version of this that cause no stress on the hair but expect to paid 25-30 dollars each

Everytime I see this thread, I misread the title. I swear I keep seeing: Bird breaks hair clamp. And everytime it shocks me.

Enchantmt, I have tried to find it again but now cannot relocate her post; it was great..a long vendor list. I cannot recall the words I used to locate it. I'll try again later to find it. I did find, instead of BIRDBEAK CLIPS... I found CONCORD {bigger flying bird I guess} at HAIR BOUTIQUE. The clips are just like birdbeaks but have no teeth. SCUNCHI also has them.

Thanks, Nubianqt...the first laugh of the day and boy oh boy did I need it!

P.S.....I RE-found Softresses' post about the sites for the hair toys...she has them listed in her JOURNAL!!!!!!

Sorry I was so late seeing this, you are very welcome.

If you don't mind spending a little more, try Ficcare clips. They are upscale, polished, better versions of the beak type clips, the clips like I have on in some of my gallery pics, and several other styles. They are worth every single penny spent on them and they last forever. I view them as jewlery items.

I have a list of links to cool hair toys in my journal for those interested, and don't forget ebay.

The beauty supply beak clips have a lot of teeth, they can be sanded down with an attachment on your hand drill, if you find one that you want that badly.

I buy the ones with teeth real cheap at my bss (99 cents) and I've filed the teeth off with an old school metal finger nail file. A hand drill sounds like it would work faster though :look:
