who constantly have hairs in their comb no matter what they do?!! I did a Nexxus Emgerncee treatment followed by a DC with HUmecto over the weekend. My hair appeared to be in great shape after that. Well, this morning, I combed my hair to prepare for my bun, and there were strands of hair in it. I think this is some form of breakage.

It seems like no matter what I do, I always get hairs in my comb whether I comb it dry or soaking wet with conditioner in it. I have a relaxer, some 3c,4a hair.

I have read and re-read Sistaslick's protein vs. moisture articles. I went to a stylist and she even told me I needed more protein (by this time I already knew that though).

So, I guess my question is, Are there any other ladies that get hair in their combs no matter what precautions they take. While looking at Macherieamours wrapping tutorial, I was looking very closely and did not notice ONE hair in her comb!! I was told no matter what, you hair will shed daily, so to get over it  But this doesnt make me feel any better.

PLease chime in...

TIA LADIES!!!!!

I shed, and since I don't comb everyday, when I do comb its a lot of hair...but their long shedded hairs. I finally had to come to the conclusion that as long as its not breakage or big clumps of hair, I'm doing alright.

I comb daily, once a day and my comb is FULL. There long strands however it adds up to a small ball. My hair seems to be thick as ever tho.. I don't understand it.

Thanks y'all!! I have a shedding and breakage issue. The shedding I am trying to embrace  because that is natural. But that darn breakage and I will be going at it tonite

Thanks ladies!!!

I am still trying to get used to the amount of shedding which as the hair gets longer looks like it's a lot more :( The only thing that eases my mind is when I inspect the shed I see a bulb on the tips, which means that it was due to fall out and isn't breakage. Strangely right after I relax my hair I don't get much at all. When the new growth starts coming in, then I get more of it.

I tend to shed and break quite a bit. I also use Nexxus Emergencee, and one thing I have noticed is that it gets better after each usage. For a few weeks, I would do a protein treatment once a week, making sure to DC afterwards, until the breakage slowed down. I finally had to come to terms with the fact that hair sheds everyday, so the shedding doesn't bother me. When there's a lot a breakage, that's when I get concerned.

If there's a white bulb at the end of the hair then it is natural shedding. Everyone sheds no matter how balanced your protein/moisture. How hard are you combing?

If your NG is coming in DO NOT comb the the NG too. Combing through it could make the hair snap at the demarcation line. If you combing it too hard and you're not moisturizing you hair dialy, it can break off that way too. I don't comb my hair a lot either but even with a wide tooth shampoo comb I still get hairs in the comb. Everyone sheds hair. Those are the breaks!

I wear a ponytail bun 95% of the time so when I take my hair down nightly to moisturize I get a few strands here and there but I don't worry b/c they have the white bulb on the ends, therefore I know its normal shedding. On wash days I get more shedding b/c I didn't comb throughout the week, but I still don't worry b/c its the shedded hair I didn't comb throughout the week. I do a protein treatment only when needed and moisturize and seal a lot more..

Thanks!!! The response have helped me tremendously. I am familiar with the shedding. I normally check for the white bulb. But, I have to get a choke hold on this breakage though :boxing:
