Naturals...Is it ok to clarify and DC everyday?

I have been experimenting and I have found that my hair looks the best after I Shampoo with a CLARIFYING Shampoo and then Deep Condition. I want to do this everyday, but I have no idea if its good for my hair or not. Plus, I used a regular Poo and DC'ed and my hair looked a hot mess...any thoughts?

If it works for you, then it works. That's what I always say anyway.

I know this would not work for me. Clarifying poo's are just too harsh for my hair. Even to be used on a weekly basis, that would be way to much. When I am ready to DC on Saturdays, I spray in ACV mixed with water and let it sit for 15 minutes. That gets my hair clean without stripping it down and then I DC. I clarify maybe once a month. But that is just me. Have you thought about why you need to clarify and DC to make your hair look good? Maybe you are using some product that is way to heavy for your hair type and it causes you to have to strip it off everyday. Could you eliminate that product. I got rid of things that coated my strand and kept moisture out of my hair and that was the end of my need for weekly clarifying.

Your hair is gorgeous by the way.:)

I used to do this once a week with my hair. But then my hairdresser told me that I shouldn't even use regular shampoo but once every month and only condition was my hair in between. No I compromise and wash one time with a gentle shampoo weekly.

IMO clarifying shampoo is too harsh to use everyday. It might take a while before the negative effects start to show so I wouldn't even risk it.

BUT if you're going to do it, DILUTE it...that way it's not as harsh on your hair.

I think the clarifying shampoo every day is too much. You should be following a clarifying shampoo up with a moisturizing one. I can't imagine your hair would have enough buildup in a day and need to be clarified or washed with any shampoo period. You could be stripping your hair of it's natural oils. DCing everyday I don't think is necessarily a bad thing but be careful that your hair doesn't get mushy. Have you thought about cowashing every day instead of shampooing and dcing?

Oh and to clarify, sorry I think I do cowashes with a deep conditioner so now I'll just use a regular one...suggestions?

I find that after I clarify I have to use a moisturizing shampoo and then DC and for me it would take too much to do it everyday, I don't even co-wash daily for now. I guess it would have to be your decision. I find that with natural hair its all about trial and error. Don't be afraid to try something and see if it works.

For me though clarifying is only about a twice a month thing....

I co wash every day. It has helped my hair A LOT. I clarify, shampoo and deep condition once a week.

I'm natural and I 'HATE' clarifying my hair too frequently because it leaves it so stripped of what I call it's armour.
If it works for you, sure...but I know that my friends of mixed heritage don't wash their hair everyday, so I would say no...

I agree. I have to use mosturizing shampoo to boot, so to clairfy daily.??. Well, some people have more oils in their hair.
I think it's like some of you here said...it's what works for you.
That's what I've learned. Everything isn't for everyone so if you hair responds well to it...good.

If it was me the time needed to do both would be too much for me, but if it works for you, it works for you. Besdies the time commitment I would think you might strip your hair by using a clarifying shampoo everyday. I only use a no poo(deva curl) every week, and a shampoo once a month, so maybe I have an anti lather type of hair.
