Well, I finally got a chance to relax my hair with this Phyto. It was kind of weird for me since I am used to lye relaxers. I read the directions two or three times to make sure that everything was on track. I mixed the inductor with the cream and thought that I wouldn't have enough. Turns out that I used the whole darn jar. My hair is super, duper straight, which I LOVE...This allows me to get the most out of my relaxer for a longer period of time. I started to smooth it through and man that stuff breaks down fast (Index 2). I was just leisurely (sp?) taking my time when I felt some tingling so I started to move. You should have seen me. I was a sight to behold. Ya'll divas would have been proud!

You guys were right on about the neutralizing time. It took me forever to get that white lather! I finally decided to do the ACV rinse which I learned from Sareca (thanks girl it works) and I had immediate white lather. I still lathered twice more after that and have a smidgen of neutralizer left.

When I rinsed, I could not believe how thick, strong, yet straight my hair felt. My neice and husband were literally standing there with their mouths hanging open when I came out of the shower (stumbling, staggering because I was so tired of neutralizing).

I did use the milky stuff (which I actually liked) and sat under my heat cap with my ORS pak. My hair is lovely!. Very healthy looking and I know my loooooooonnnnnnnnnnnngggggggg stretch had a lot to do with that. From now on I will be stretching like a mug!

This was a turning point for me. I have been very flighty when it comes to my hair always letting it grow, then cutting it all off but now I am learning to appreciate it and love it. I am so happy!

Thank you for your support girls. It would not have turned out this way without all of your knowledge. This was my first relaxer since joining LHCF. Gotta go look at my hair!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Welcome to the PhytoRelaxer family.

Hey do you mind sharing the ACV to help with neutrilizing? This is the first I've heard of it.

Thanks!

Congrats! I have been contemplating switching relaxers. Right now I am torn between Affirm, Mizani, Vitale, or Phyto. Your testimony has me all confused now.

Thanks for sharing and I am happy that you had such a good experience.

I love great Phyto stories! - I was going to switch, but It's hard to break from something that ain't broke and don't need to be fixed(ORS No- Lye) I'm enthused about your grreat success.

As a matter of fact I applied my second PhytoRelaxer about a month ago and my hair reacted better to it. That's not to say that the first time was not good b/c it was GREAT!!!! I really didn't think it could get any better but my hair is stronger and the relaxer took EVEN beter than the first time.

Don't you touch my Phyto!

I am glad that your phyto experience went well. Congrats:)

I've been thinking about texturizing w/phyto 1, but am really pleased with my hair right now & don't want a set back. :perplexed

What's that? How do you do it and in what step in the relaxing process are you supposed to do it? I'm glad you had a good result self-relaxing. Phyto was my first self-relaxer too ;) But I tried Phyto II twice and I'm ready to try another, I wish I got the same results as you guys but I don't :(. I still have enough for a second application and don't know what I'm gonna do with it! Oh and how long was your stretch?

Thank you for the replies ladies...

ACV rinse...the way I did it was pretty archaic since I had to actually step out of the shower after neutralizing for the uptnth time and still seeing pink. I just grabbed my DH beer jug glass and filled it with warm water, then I grabbed the ACV out of the cabinet and poured about 2 ounces in and just poured it over my head. I had to do this twice.

I got my phyto from HoneyDew (waves to HD!) but you can get it at Sephora and Nordstroms I believe.

I'm glad the OP had great results. I've been using Phyto for over 1 year (since joing LHCF) and I'm going back to lye. It was great in the beginning, but IMHO I think it dries the hair out over time. I'm thinking of trying the new Mizani. For those of you interested in purchasing Phyto, you can get it at http://pollyandco.com/catalog/ and also http://www.amirahg.com/ for less than Sephora.
