So I'm looking for something to make my natural hair much easier to manage where I don't have to go through hell when shampooing and detangling.

  1. So with these systems, Design Essentials, Avlon Smoothing System, BASIC one step, and any others, does your hair change back to it's natural state instantly once water touches it? Alternatively does it do that over so many shampoos?
  2. Do they make your wash day easier with less tangly hair? Easier to handle?
  3. Which do you like the best?

I liked arosci restructuring system the best but it no longer can be bought without a licence.

Once it gets wet the hair curls up but is slightly looser and silky feeling. It wears off after a while though.

You liked this one because it gets the hair straighter longer? How long does it take to wear off if I wash weekly? 3 weeks? 6 weeks?

I liked this one because it gave the most dramatic results imo. I would say it wore off in about 8 weeks. I wash my hair more frequently though.

ok that's what I need. Did they use a lot of heat? do they offer it in the salons? I need something to keep it smoother, silkier longer so I can wash it would having to wrestle with it. I'm assuming this is what you meant. Did you have to use a lot of heat?

I did it myself and didn't use a lot of heat (2 passes at around 370) I loved the result. I would assume that a stylist would use a higher heat and more passes but if you can find someone who can do it for you be vocal about how much heat is put on your hair.

I bought Aveda naturally straight, I'll be using it in about 3 weeks, I'll let you know how it goes.
