I leave Coconut Oil in my hair overnight once a week. Thing is..it's so hard to wash out. Anyone have ideas on the best way to wash it out??

Use a good clarifying poo and let it sit on your hair for a few minutes during one of your lathers. I did this recently when my hair had buildup from cones. I let my poo sit on for a minute or two before I washed it out.

Is it that beneficial leaving it in so long? Coconut oil is tricky . I think clarifying after would counteract whatever you were trying to accomplish in the first place.

I use coconut oil whenever I sporadically decide to pre poo and I wash it out within an hour with 1 go of regular shampoo. I also font saturate my hair just use enough of cover the strands .

I mix coconut oil with a cheap conditioner. I use that as my pre-poown weekly. I have no issues when I use shampoos or cleansers in getting all the oil out.

Sorry I just saw your post.. Yeah, it's been beneficial for me..Im not sure if just leaving it on for just an hour or so would have the same benefits.

I love coconut oil but I can feel the pain with washing it out from my hair and off my face lol.

Be light handed with the coconut oil. And when you shampoo leave it in for a few minutes and massage your hair. Also, before you shampoo rinse your hair with warm/hot water to get most of it out.

When you go to wash it out DON'T wet your hair first . Put the shampoo, or shampoo diluted with water all over your hair and then lather. Once plain water touches it, it's hard to wash out.

Shampooing twice and really working it into my hair is enough to get all of the oil out for me.
Oh make sure you use a sulfate shampoo.
