Hi ladies

Can I apply the contents of a garlic supplement capsule topically to my scalp? I thought I'd read about other people on here doing that, but of course now I'm trying to search for it I can't find it

Thanks!

I think I've seen various people on the internet do so but I think most people hold off do to potential smell problems. Even the odorless garlic capsules still smell like garlic before I take them. There are some garlic shampoos and conditioners you could try out too.

Thank you :) I suddenly started shedding quite badly about a week and a half ago; tried a tea rinse last weekend and it made no difference at all. I'm UK based and it doesn't seem like any of the garlic shampoos I've read about on here are readily available unless I shell out a small fortune. I ordered garlic vatika oil which I'm going to leave on my scalp overnight before washing this weekend, and also ordered capsules. Will start taking them straight away but just wondered whether to apply topically too. Probably overreacting but I'm a bit worried about the shedding!

Oh. I have Aphogee! I was using it for protein after a relaxer - had no idea it could help shedding!

Green tea rinse should slow the shedding almost instantly. Swallowing the garlic pills will slow shedding too after a few doses.

@CluelessJL - you may want to think about making your own garlic oil, then you will have it on hand when you need/want it.
Dice up fresh Garlic Cloves. Let them sit in container for ~1 hr before using, then steep in olive oil or unrefined sunflower hour, 4-12 hours (measurements and steeping time based on personal preference for oil strength) . Strain cloves from garlic. Voila - garlic oil.
Garlic has copper which is excellent for hair health and hair growth.
