I thought this would be a fun thread to cure the case of the Mondays.

Here's mine:
I was at an urgent care clinic after coming down with a bad case of bronchitis and a fever of 103. Before I could get my treatment, I had to explain to the nurse in great detail what I did to my twist out that day.

Late last year there was a major death in my family. Ladies, they were still loading the casket into the hearse when distant family members wanted to know my complete reggie and if KCKT was worth the price.:nono:

Da faq?

What kind of hospital is this?

A good friend of my so always complement my hair texture and length. He's growing his hair out and asks me for advice. Like what I put in it, styles I wear, if other women in my family has hair like mines etc.
I'm fine with it and all, my so don't mind. But...
His girlfriend looks ready to swing his head off:handslap:

Everywhere
1. Carrabba's. we were at dinner and random waitress (not ours) comes over and has full fledged conversation about my and what I do. DH even contributed to that one.
2. Best Buy. Cashier wanted to know what I used for my hair. Told me me about her heat damage.
3. Gym. I get questions about my hair all the time from instructors and other gym members.
4. Family functions
5. Work.

When I was on a brunch date. The waitress came out of nowhere (not even our server...because our server was male) and said "Your hair is amazing! Oh my God, don't move I have to come back and grill you about what you do to your hair!"

My first thoughts were "I'm not moving...I just got my food..." :dazed:

Sure enough she came back, she kind of took over our table for awhile just so she could ask me about my hair.

And since I was on a date with a white guy...he was clearly lost as to what just transpired. So then I had to explain it to him

Just recently when I was in the hospital having my son. As the anesthesiologist is pulling the epidural out of my back. He starts to tell me how cool my hair is and asked how long it took to get done. Lol even the nurse helping him started to agree and ask me questions as well. I was flattered but i thought it was so bizarre I literally just pushed out a 8lb baby.

I just remembered another:
I was at an informal cheese and wine tasting for my boyfriend's neighborhood and was seated at an all guy table (his roommates and older neighbors). A lady sat down and stared at me for a good five minutes before asking me about my hair. I love talking about hair, but I hate isolating the rest of the table and 8 men just stared in silence as we discussed why I don't use Miss Jessies products. Finally at the end of the convo, she tugs hard on her wig and explains that she only wears this because her hair is too short for her face. Now y'all know most men can't tell when we wear wigs and they were like  when what appeared to be her scalp shifted to the left. To this day, my boyfriend and his friends still ask me why she had to tug her wig like that to make a point.

This morning before work I stopped at publix to grab a salad and fruit (#tryingtobehealthy). The fruit lady gets my attention and says good morning. I returned the greeting and proceed to browse the cut up fruit. Out of the corner of my I eye see her rushing from around the counter and she proceeds to ask me what products I use and that my hair is beautiful. We then proceed to have a full blown conversation about hair products with her taking notes. The yt fruit lady was giving the side eye the whole time. :lachen:Another customer grabbed her fruit looked at us and say your hair is pretty.

Then the other day I was about to get changed for the gym at work and the cleaning lady was talking to another lady from the office across the hall and the wanted to know what I put in my hair. That conversation included the one woman pulling up pictures of her hair from childhood through adulthood. She wanted me to know that her hair looks like mine when wet. I just smiled and said ok. :look:

I swear I'm just minding my business going about my day, but people have no chill they are going to get that product recommendation no matter what.

1. In the bathroom just as I was going to wash my hands...she looked over and did a double take

2. Hotel housekeeper in Germany....stopped by after her shift, said she noticed me leaving and my hair products and wanted to know my Reggie and would they help her hair too.

3. Black girl leaving Chinese restaurant hovered at my table 30 minutes.

4. DMV lady put up a sign to close her counter and talked to me.

My hair isn't spectacularly long. It's actually thinner than I'd like and barely APL, but it's healthy looking I'm guessing to folks.

I can't even:lachen:

And it's totally not about length. Most people I know outside of this forum is all about having cute healthy hair and not necessarily struck by length.

Well, mine isn't about advice, but yesterday when I was in Panera Bread this white cashier complimented my twists and started pulling her hair down in the back to show me how hers dreds up and looks kind of like mine. She almost held up the line and I just think in a place where you're serving food that was a little odd and inappropriate.

Ugh that's too close to the food. Did she have an explanation as to why she was letting her hair dread up if that wasn't what she was trying to do on purpose

On the hospice floor of a hospital. After giving an update on my family member's status, the nurse asked me about the hair products I used and how did I get my hair to look like it did. Really? She did apologize for the inappropriate timing after asking. It must have been because of the expression on my face. I remained calm and answered her questions. I hope the nurse won't do that again.

I know right?! And people were just staring. No explanation, she was just trying to show me how much we had in common with our hair. I just said "oh" and smiled. I didn't have the heart or time to tell her no sweetie it's not the same. LOL

And taking notes! :lachen:Now that's funny!

Oh yeah I do have a Dr. visit one from back in June. Now this was when I was wearing my hair straight. I had it pulled back in a bun. As soon as the nurse assistant (white woman again) finished taking my weight and other vitals, asking me about my recent surgery, etc...somehow we got on the subject of hair because her daughter is of mixed race. She wanted to know how I get mine straight if I'm not relaxed because a stylist and others told her that her daughter's hair HAD to be relaxed! So, I went on to explain. The Dr. came in and she just kept on talking. The Dr. was like uh...okay you can go now. LOL! The NA said, see me before you leave so we can finish this convo! LOL! She was destined to get that knowledge in between patients.

On 3 occasions (3 different girls) at the checkout in my regular supermarket stopped to compliment the me on my hair and ask what I do. The last one didn't even care that there was a growing line behind me, as she gave me my receipt and we continued talking about rhassoul clay and shingling.

As I left an off license, and woman ran out after me asking how I get my hair like that. She proceeded to lift up the back of her wig on the high street, asking if her hair could get like that with whatever gel I use- no shame lol.

One woman was clearly following me and my mother around a clothes shop as she talked on her phone. As we were walking out the door, she approaches me to ask me what I use on my hair to make it curly. She really liked my hair, and wanted to wear her natural hair like that (a wng).
