My Weave Caught On Fire!!!!

She should have put on a mask ASAP! That smoke is a mix of toxic chemicals. Due to the demand for weave, manufactors have put together "hair like" weave.

Can someone give a recap for those who can't watch the vid? I'm not getting it because real hair is flammable unless you buy synthetic flame retardant hair, actual hair (i.e hair that grows from your scalp) can catch fire.

She tried to dye the hair and it wouldn't lift. When she wrapped it in the aluminum foil the foil was really hot and the hair was smoking. Then when she tried to burn it at the end the hair went up really quickly.

Burn the hair? Is that part of the process? I'm so confused! And why was the foil hot?

Oh I don't know about that part. She just put a lighter to it at the end. She said "I don't know what to do with this now - whether to burn it or what?" And she also said when she "burned her other hair" it's never burned like that or smelled like that before. I have no idea why she did that or if that's a common practice. Lol But it wasn't a part of the dyeing process. This was the day after the dying process.

I don't know why the foil was hot or the hair was smoking as she was dyeing it. She said she's never had a problem dyeing any other hair. But probably because this wasn't human hair with added stuff in it? I don't know much about weaves other than beauty supply hair. Can you buy 100% human hair?

Thank you! I couldn't see the video at first! Lol

I love April's hair reviews, she's always so honest.

Thanks, and based on her experience with "hair", I were her I'd toss those lashes straight into the trash can.
Burn the hair? Is that part of the process? I'm so confused! And why was the foil hot?

1st she tried lifting the color from the hair,...... this hair did not respond to the process like other hair has in the past (color did not get lighter).
2nd she tried to "help" the process along by wrapping the treated hair in foil, she let it sit about 30 minutes.

3rd she returned to the treated and foil wrapped hair to find the foil feeling rather warm (hot). When she opened the foil she found the contents to be smoking, and warm. :campfire:

4th she gave a recount of her experience, stating that she's not sure what that stuff (hair) was; and :rolleyes:wondered what would happen if she "burned" it, she flicked her bic (on an unbleached/treated weft), and that stuff lit up like a 4th of July Sparkler.

Bottom line IMHO: the fibers were treated with something that was highly combustible:couchfire:; and is not safe to have attached to a human's :hair:head. AGAIN, she should toss those lashes too. (IMHO)

What in the world! They nagged her to review the hair, sent her combustible hair and had the nerve to ask her to remove the review.

I followed her back when she had her other channel. I wonder what happened to her first husband. She stuck by him while he was in prison and if I recall she was raising 4-5 kids. Why would they knowingly send a mom (or any customer) combustible hair?!?! Anything could have happened. Then calling her after midnight asking her to remove the review?

That "soon to be husband" was confusing because I remembered her being married too.
