When I think of Ramen Noodles I think; crunchy and dry. Is that the problem? When I had crunchy hair it was do to the mineral oil/petrolatum in the products I was using. Namely products like Pink Luster. I am currently having a dryness issue due to the dry & cold climate/season and hard water issues in my area. You may check into that as well. How often do you deep condition? Moisture only? How much and how often are you putting protein in your hair and eating?
What products do you use?
mI have ramen noodle curls. To me, it means super defined curls. What helps me is to scrunch out the crunch after my hair is dry, using the "praying hands" technique. My hair instantly looks bigger and fluffier.
OP, I know exactly what you mean because I have them, too.
How does it look if your brush out or finger comb your curls?
I get the ramen noodle effect when i use heavy products. Maybe your styler is too heavy for your strands? I would recommend a hair thickener as well.
I have ramen noodle curls
I had ramen noodle curls when I used Kinky Curly Curling Custard. In fact, I haven't had ramen noodle curls since I stopped using gel altogether. You may need bigger clumps. Are you combing your products through your hair? If so, try finger combing instead and smoothing to encourage clumps. You might also try defining your ends with a Denman brush.
