My nape's relaxed ends

Re breaking off! But only one side the first time I used heat was wed. That's when I noticed. I moisturize properly, I have been wearing buns since I was not using heat. My ends have been getting healthier...I don't know what went wrong! My nape isn't long enough to fit in my top messy bun. And I rotate my buns so I don't cause damage.

Last year my nape broke off and I realized it was due to the scarves I was wearing. A family member knit some scarves for me that are beautiful and warm but I had to hang them up this year due to all the damage they caused last year. Now I am very mindful of the materials I put on that area.

I agree. Scarves, sweaters, and rough materials can dry out hair and make it break. Try babying the area with deep conditioners, the LOC method, and see what happens.

Should LOC really be LCO so the oil as the sealant is last?

Yeah certain materials can destroy the nape. I am very careful about what I wear. This year I invested in more silk lined hats and beanies. I also wear a silk scarf around my neck when wearing turtlenecks or any material that might rub against my hair. I also wear my hair up 99% of he time during the winter. I have purchased a lot of hair accessories to try and spice it up a little. I generously moisturize and seal my nape also. These are the things that helped me take better care of my nape.

I do LOC on my hair, I find that the cream after the oil makes it feel less oily. On my DD I use LCO cause her hair is thirsty.

To strengthen my nape, I skipped relaxing it for a good 6 months...that really helped.
