Hey gals, what do you use to block out moisture when doing a blowout?

My last blowout did not even last 24 hours:blush: and I would like to my prevent that going forward.

staying away from products that don't have cones. Also staying away from products that have humectants.

Towel dry your hair lightly after you've detangled it and apply a serum with a lot of cones, smoothing serums are the best for this purpose. This will allow for your hair to not have excess moisture it doesn't need and the cones will seal for protection from heat and smooth results.

Make sure your hair is moisturized before the blow out, if you hair is dry prior to straightening there is nothing that will keep it from reverting. Don't over shampoo prior to your D/C'ing either.

As for what I sure for blow outs, PM skinny balm and serum, just a little of both. Prior to blow drying then nothing else before the flat iron process.

I can get rained on (I have twice this week) and not have my hair revert.

The only product that has ever worked for me is Sabino Moisture Block. I ran out and straightened using some other product, and my hair was all frizz and curls immediately.

The Living Proof products work well for me.

Agree! Their No Frizz Straight Making Styling Cream (not sold at Ulta or Sephora, must get from their site through a search) works really well for us.

You need a good heat protectant. Plus never try and blow dry in a steamy bathroom. I learned that the hard way duhhh

I use Mixed Chicks Straightening Serum. There are others. Unless I wet it directly my blow outs or presses last 5 days

I use the joico kpak straightening balm. With this my hair stays straighter longer and that's saying something considering I live in such a humid area. I'm gonna wash soon though bc it's been 2 weeks since I last washed and my scalp in rebelling.

I use protein to fill in the gaps and make my hair retain more moisture. Then I use Chi Silk Infusion serum. My blowouts last about 4 weeks

Nothing really worked for me. I tried most of the tried and true methods listed here.

Beautiful Textures textures management worked well for me. If you don't want to try the whole system, I will say this....I used just the BT shampoo and conditioner (from the anti reversion line) on my friend and her hair held up well for over a week and it has been raining here for a month! This is the poo and condish they have you use after you use the treatment on your hair to maintain it. It may be worth a try for you.

I have used the entire line, with full reversion after I shampoo. My review is in the Flexible Natural Thread. I think trying just the shampoo and conditioner before your next flat iron may be worth it.
