Black scrunchies?

I cut my old pantyhose into 3-4 inch strips (the thicker the better) to get black scrunchies. It's not satin, but at least it's nylon, the same substance wave caps are made out of.

That's what it looks like.

If you cut both legs of some hose that have a run or a hole in them, you can have 12 new black seamless scrunchies at no cost.

I made my own. I made traditional scrunchies from satin and wide elastic and I made ribbon ties from fold over satin elastic.

I made my own back in the early '90s when they were in style as a fashion statement (and I was learning how to sew). This thread makes me want to make some again. :yep:

I found some on the ground but the elastic is weak and breaks easily.

http://blensblend.com/ sells silk and satin scrunchies, occasionally in black. I purchased a satin bonnet and scrunchie from there. The black scrunchies were sold out when I bought mine, but I still really like the one I did get (very nice quality). I don't wear it out of the house.

I tried to make two last night! It is better to do it with a sewing machine! Lol

Hey shortdub * waves enthusiastically* I was cruzing Etsy and I happen to come across a lady that makes * drumroll please* custom-colored satin hair scunchies (and a bunch of other stuff)
When I saw them, I thought of you lol. The name of the boutique is called MamaNMe Boutique. I've never tried her, but she seems to have good reviews.

I checked out that shop. They have holiday stuff up now. I found some others on there.

Definitely Etsy...that's where I got all of mine from. The vendor I used specifically has gone out of business. However, I recently checked and there were other vendor options available.
