So I just bought this product and it is really watery and has little lumps in it. I can't really place the smell but I am now suspicious it might not be legit. Can anyone who has used this before tell me what the consistency is supposed to be? *

****sorry for the typos I am in my phone and my keyboard is acting up*******

That doesn't sound like the product is recent or current. You can always call them. they are good about identifying old product. Just have the container on hand because you will need to read the code on the bottle back to them.

I hope you have your receipt and purchased the product from a legit location - otherwise the best they can do is confirm that the product is old/junk that should be tossed.

Thanks. I read some amazon reviews and YouTube videos and some have the same consistency as mine so I was unsure .

It's always been creamy for me. The one time I found it watery, I called and found out that the product was 3+ years old and not recommended for use. :-(

toss it. it's probably not right. I bought one that had the smell of dog food so i knew that wasn't right

It's best to by salon products from licensed retailers. Mom and pop owned beauty supply stores, discount retailers like Marshall's and TJMaxx, and some drug stores (I saw dusty healthy sexy hair pumpkin products a year after the line was discontinued at CVS) aren't reputable for salon products. It's best to buy them from the salon directly, professional salon retailers like Sally Beauty Supply or other beauty supply store/salon hybrids like Ulta.

But then again, it's nice to get the discounts that some of the less reliable stores have to offer. It's a gamble.

I bought it once about 6 years ago and it was watery runny as well. I remember being turned off by the consistency so I never used up all the product. When I returned to the product months later, it was literally liquid. No creamy consistency at all. I just threw it away.

It's gets semi watery and lumpy, I've been using it for years, never had an issue. The smell is reminds me of cinnamon or something in that family.

Its old. I know because mine was creamy when I first started using it, then years later when I found the bottle in the back of my closet the consistency was watery and lumpy.
