Sweaty scalps...

Who else has this problem? My scalp is one of the first places to sweat if it's hot or humid out.

That's REALLY frustrating for keeping styles looking nice... even twist-outs. I was just looking at one of Naptural85's videos (with her unicorn hair) and her twistout looked detangled from root to tip. I only have that on day 1 and day 2, maximum. Beyond that, sweatiness starts to frizz my roots (or worse, mat them).

What gives? Does anyone have a solution they're happy with?:ohwell:

I just installed kinky twists in yesterday because of this reason. This is the hottest season where I live (Dakar, Senegal) and the feeling of air being able to reach my scalp feels like HEAVEN! So, my scalp can cool down faster while I'm in these braids.

Now what about once I take them out?

I use a banana clip to pineapple my hair with when it gets too sweaty like when working out. It keeps my curl pattern from stretching and pulls the roots tight enough to keep my hair from matting as it dries.

I sweat in my head. I have no solution. It is the worst!

Agreed -

OP, the only thing that's been helping is allowing water to hit my scalp mid-week. It's a bit of a pain but it's a must with working out & being a natural sweater with or with much activity.

When my hair is straight, i just try to stay cool.....nothing else works for me.

My hair will revert walking to my car!

i am natural and the best way i deal with my sweatty hair is to not wear my hair straight or attempt stretched styles like twists. other than that...i have no answers.

Don't get me started. I was sweating trying to flat iron my hair!

Nothing really can stop the sweat. I plan my hairstyles, so it doesn't matter if I sweat or not.

When my hair was longer it was updos of every kind.

Now that my hair is in a bob style, I can't figure out what to do. Besides keep it wrap all the time.
