Hello all -- I love my almond, BJCO, emu, essential oil mixes but let's face it, they are a MESS - especially in the summer and/or if you're not wearing your hair curly and natural. I am tempted to go back to Doo-Gro Light or Bronner Brothers Super Gro because of the convenience but the ingredients -- eek gads!!! At this point I don't really care. If you have a suggestion for something that you (a) bought at a store/ordered online or (b) made yourself and you were able to get rid of the drip/runny factor by adding something more solid to it -- please chime in. Thanks!!

Dr. Miracle took my edges out. It took months for the thinning to disappear. Granted this was back in 2004 so their formula may have change.
 
Another vote for green magic. It has a nice consistency, applies clean, has a non offensive faint smell, and it gives a nice increase of growth. Unfortunately for me, the shedding I get from growth aid outweighs whatever growth I get from the product.
I have used many, and the green magic and hairitage hydration ( not a very liked vendor anymore) sprout are the only 2 I would recommend.
 
charmtreese I have this in my stash -- applied a couple of times and was like "eh" but willing to give it another shot. Is it something that you have to use over time to see growth/thickness or is it more of a "put it on and stop shedding" type of product?

Looking like there is a bit of a consensus with the Liquid Gold Green Magic. Why don't I know about this? LOL I lurk, post from time to time and have learned about every one of the listed ingredients (e.g., Amla, Emu, etc.) on LHCF -- but have never seen any mention, testimonies, reviews of this product. If you have a link to a relevant thread or have time to share more about your experiences, please expand. (The PJ is sitting on my left shoulder yelling "BUY IT, JUST BUY IT ALREADY!" but I would love to hear more.)

I have been using Greem Magic regularly for the past three months. I have definitely seen growth. It is a cream that I apply at night and then massage my hair for several minutes.

When I first got it, I thiought that it smelled green and earthy. It seems to me that I am more sensitive to the scent over time. I can definitely smell the sulfur, and recently added some essential oil to my jar. My husband has never said a word.

I just ordered three more jars last week to take me through the end if this year.

I think that the Green Magic information is in the latter part of this thread, but check out the whole thing.

I just went ahead and purchased this. :look:

Haven't been on the hair side in a while but I was running out of my SSI Seyani Butter so I purchased the Green Magic and the Whipped Marshmallows Butter.

I didn't see a place to enter the discount code (is that still working?) so I e-mailed about that...

IDareT'sHair -- I see from other thread that you are the hands-down Queen of Grease/Oil/Pomade LOL Based on what you have seen (my eyes were starting to cross as I was going through your thread:spinning:)and the list below, would you say that Liquid Gold's Green Magic is the least greasy/drippy? My combo 3(bc)4(a) hair is flat ironed within an inch of its life and is not as thick as I'd like to begin with so greasy/drippy is my enemy -- my dry scalp is calling for something but the minute anything for my scalp gets on hair, it looks mad "piecey" and separated.

You asked for a Grease no? This isn't runny/drippy at all. It is a soft cream.

A Grease and/or Pomade shouldn't be runny or drippy like oil.

If it is, then there's a problem.:lol:

Did the formula for Green Magic change? I bought it last year (or earlier) and it didn't look as whipped as it does on the website now and the color was darker. Also, how long can you keep it? For some reason I thought it was only good for 6 months.

The pics have it frothied & whipped all up.:lol:

The last time I bought it, it was the exact same. :yep:

And you're right, I think they did give it a 6 month shelf life.

However, I would store it someplace dry, cool, dark.

Just wanted to update that even though I didn't see a place to insert the LHCF discount code, I emailed after I placed my order and they're refunding me the discounted amount.

Green Magic isn't water based. It's coconut and caster oil, so there shouldn't be reversion. It doesn't drip because it is a cream.

It is still creamy. I find that I used about a jar a month since I apply it nightly.
