So I got my hair pressed yesterday but yesterday it also rained and was humid. It's definitely still straight but it is all over the place and also a bit dry looking.

I don't know if I should put some shea butter in it or what. But really I'm trying to figure out what I should do with it tonight so it looks OK in the morning when I go to work

. I am not good with the styling whatsoever. Help me.

Sorry the pictures suck so bad. My camera died and I am taking pics on this tablet's terrible camera.

I would try a braidout and roll the ends with perm rods. You could also try a bantu knot out.

Thank you. Do you have any suggestions for a YouTuber who does a good braid out tutorial?

Also do you think I should I put a little moisturizer on it? My hair doesn't revert revert until I actually wash it so a little something something like shea butter and the like won't make it curl up.

I would always moisturize and seal when styling my hair

Oh, well yeah, I guess the last time I pressed my hair, it really stayed very moisturized and stylish looking through the first five days or so without me adding anything to it so I guess I was a bit spoiled by that.

I second the braid out suggestion. I would spritz lightly with water and do some medium sized braids. If youre hi-po, seal with a light oil that wouldn't weigh down your hair. I think shea butter would be too greasy and heavy for straightened hair.

Is olive oil or coconut oil considered light?

When my hair acts like that after a press then humidity I moisturize with a cream base product APB creme or ors carrot oil put 2 flat twists in the front then 2 bantu knots in the back cover with a bonnet then Ill have cute twists styles with slight waves in the back.

How long does this usually last you? Do you have to retwist/Bantu knot nightly?

Gina something or another on YouTube has relaxed hair but her braidout tutorial would be perfect since she does them on airdried hair and the texture is similar to yours right now. Also ninapruitt before she went natural.

My suggestions:
Add a creamy moisturizer and a holding agent (foam wrap or gel) just a dab, not too much to weigh it down
4 sections, at least 5 braids each
Cornrows if you know how for texture at the root Roll the ends on permrods for a nice curl
When you take it down tomorrow, add a light oil to your hands to avoid frizz.
Slick down your edges if that's your thing. You could even make a cute updo out of it if your office is more conservative or if you just like your hair out of the way.

Wrap it, or flexi rods. :yep:

Also, since you're natural, stick to oils. No water based products. Good luck!

Thanks! That sounds so cute!
