Naturals that dye their Greys (NO HENNA) what kind of dye do you use?

I usually get the stuff you mix yourself from sallys (when off work I'll post the brand) but that new one by loreal I think it is, isnt too bad for coverage but a tad drying. Also Beijing or what ever the spelling is pretty good. But I prefer to stick with the one at sallys when I can

Ion Demi Permanent. You can find it at Sally's. Works very well, I will continue to use it on my newly Thermal Reconditioned hair.

Ok!!! Back! I use either AGEbeautiful Anti-aging Permanent Liqui-creme Haircolor or Ion Color Brilliance Permanent Creme Hair Color. I've also used one over the other with out anything crazy happening. These 2 brands are my buddies for my greys.

If I want to just refresh or deepen a color (back when I wasnt dying my hair my natural color) I would use Clairol Jazzing Temporary Hair Color which btw I LOVE!!!! I dont care what no body says.

I use Shea Moisture. That is what I am sticking with now.

I used ION demi and permanent. They were nice. I used Bigen. It was a no for me. I used Naturatint which was nice as well.

I stick to permanent because I only color my roots. When I use the demi permanent after about 6 months my ends are gray again.

Sally's has a touch up stick which works really well if you need something in between.

So I did a semi-permanent color (jet black) and it covered those grays like nobody's business. I used Clairol Beautiful Collection Advanced Gray Solutions (in the gray bottle). No dryness or anything either.

I've been using Wella Color Charm demi-permanent from Sally's. The activating lotion is about $4 and you can get 3-4 (maybe even more) uses out of it.

I'm not the most thorough when I apply the color, so I may be left with a gray strand or two but it seems to get the job done. My hair is never dry afterwards. Actually, it feels quite nice after I color it.

thanks for this thread. I have greys popping up in the front of my hair line and through out my hair. Once I finally chop I want to start touching up my hair line with color. I was thinking of trying Shea Moisture or Sally's Ion color that's been mentioned in this thread.

Yes they sell it at some Targets or online. It is more expensive than others but my hair seems to like it more.

i think it depends on what type of Henna you used.

Yes but it is still a permanent color so you would have the same warnings and precautions as using any other permanent color. It doesn't contain ammonia but it still contains peroxide or some version of it. It just uses more natural products to provide protein and moisture to the hair.

I know there are dye strippers. I used it once before and it was a bit harsh (but at that time I had very bad hair practices so it could have been that) but worked. Thing is I dont know if it would work on hennad hair

Not sure if it would work but you could always try bentonite clay or another mudwash. They tend to draw products from the hair. It may work over time.
