For me? Protective styling, washing weekly to keep my scalp clean,; and maintaining a proper moisture/protein balance.
Hopefully others will chime in too!

Lots of moisture, protein when needed, minimal manipulation and protective styles. Currently I have braids.

Low manipulation, wig regimen, deep condition after each shampoo, keeping my hair stretched in braids or blown out.
