I'm back after a long absence caused by personal tragedy and ready to start posting again. Luckily despite it all my hair seemed to thrive. I just did a touch up Monday night and took my first progress pic of 2014. What length is this? My hair in this picture was just taken down from a bun thus the texture.

For comparison this was my hair this time last year.

Thanks ladies. My son was stillborn on April 3rd and I was so scared the stress and grief along with postpartum shedding would have a negative effect on my hair. It's nice to know one thing in my life is improving.

I'm so sorry to hear about your son...I lost a little one 5-years ago -- and can relate to how you feel.

Your hair is beautiful---and is definitely BSL.

Sorry for your loss, I pray that God gives you the strength you need to recover.

Your hair is gorgeous, definitely BSL and it's soooo thick!
Care to share your regimen?

Sorry for your loss. I lost my 15 month old son. So I can relate. I used garlic shampoo to battle shedding from stress

Thank you! Ironically I always considered my hair thin until recently. It started to thicken before my pregnancy (I'll see if I can dig up old pics of my thinness) which I attribute to stretching, texlaxing, and protein, protein, protein. I probably have the most basic regimen ever. I wash once a week with whatever shampoo I have on hand. I dc with either ors replenishing conditioner, aphogee 2 min, or ors hair mayo. I detangle under running water and then apply Cantu Shea butter and grapeseed oil to seal if im rocking my wash and go pony or just a heat serum if flat ironing. I flat iron after air drying or rollerset when the mood hits me at 392 but have mastered doing it with one pass. I dont comb my hair at all during the week it's in a pony. If straightened I comb at night to wrap and in the morning for takedown. I stretch my r elaxers for at least 12 weeks.

This was my first length check in January 2012. I had see through ends, my hemline was horrible, and my hair was severely over processed. I never did a major cut I just grew out the damage doing micro trims and learned my hair through trial anf error. I actually learned about my hairs need for protein in 2012 because I decided my hair needed moisture and went on a moisturising quest. After 2 months my hair felt like straw. I read about aphogee 2 step and did a treatment using the packet and noticed my hair felt like silk while I was rinsing it out. I still didn't listen though and would constantly let my hair get over moisturized. In the last few months I upped the protein and that's when my hair turned around.

Whew I was proud of my 4 little strands of aol hair though lol.

Yes you are BSL. I am so sorry for your loss. I had a stillbirth at 37 weeks. I wouldn't wish this pain on anyone because I still go through it from time to time. For me it was almost 6 years ago.

khadicurls It's a pain like no other. I'm sorry for your loss. I was 30 weeks when I lost my son but found out he stopped growing at around 21 weeks.

Omgosh I'm so sorry!

I am so sorry to hear about the loss of your baby. I lost a child 13 years ago and the pain and heartbreak will always be there but you learn to deal with it, move on, live again, and trust God. Prayers and blessings to you and your family.

Yep, looks thick and healthy too. Sorry to hear about your loss, i hope things are looking up for you now.
