Ok, I was so excited to use this and I'm shop I got it. It's a nice medium protein treatment, it's thick but spreads easily; unlike the restorative mask. It provided a bit of slip, my hair felt stronger and was very manageable. My hair loves protein, but if you are protein sensitive then be careful.

I will be getting this again as it's a semi natural protein treatment that I can get on the ground.

Sent from my iPhone using LHCF

Finally got the nourishing hair masque. They had it at the back of the store in the seasonal aisle! Thats where it was prob the first time I went!

Anyway...this line is supposed to be like a BKT but natural; hence the keratin and peptides it contains. I got the R/O and the hair & scalp weekly therapy too :look:

I can always take them back if I dont like but I read good reviews on the masque. I will see how it straightens when Im deep in my stretch

I LOVE this HHJ!!

I got the rinse out last week and, so far I LOVE IT. When I first put it on my hair I thought 'well this isn't going to work', because it honestly barely felt like I'd put anything in there. But somehow my tangles just melted away.

It's not very moisturizing, but I guess all the protein or something in it smooths the cuticles to make the hair easier to detangle.

My hair loves protein (protein overload may just be impossible for me) so I'm excited at the prospect of having a cone-free, midlevel protein conditioner that I can get on the ground.

OMG! My hair is smooth as silk! I M&Sd, then cross wrapped my hair after rinsing the weekly treatment and masque and let it dry O/N under a satin scarf. In the morning my hair was straight. I left a lot of texture during my TU last week so my roots are wavy. This SM stuff really smoothed my roots. It was so easy to straighten them with the flat iron. My hair is shiny, soft and strong right now. I dont see any breakage either!

I LOVE this HHJ!!

mshoneyfly what is this (the bolded).

I saw the weekly treatment but I resisted (that bottle was really small).

Used the rinse out last night. Yup, me likes! Gonna have to check out the other stuff. My target only had one rinse out and one scalp treatment in the whole blasted store....

the products are so tiny for the price. I was tempted to buy the leave in but it was 10.00 for a bottle half the size of the other line's leave ins

How would you ladies compare this mask to Brown Butter Beauty 's deep conditioner?

SweetlyCurly I'll be looking for the Monoi conditioner today.

I bought the Brown Butter DC during the Black Friday sale and I was disappointed that the ingredients listed on the site does not match wats on the box. I tried the conditioner anyway and I like it but I dislike all those synthetic ingredients. It's like 80 ingredients in there.

I am about to try these now. Trying to decide whether to use the weekly treatment or the mask right now.

I wish I could find a store w/all the Shea Moisture products, and organized well.

Are you talking about the Brown Butter Beauty deep condish? The site says key ingredients so it's not a complete listing.

I can actually pronounce most of the ingredients and know what they are. It's not full of synthetic stuff.

Sorry that's my fav dc, just a fan rambling on lol.

So I tried the Weekly Treatment on my 4 a/b fine, natural hair. I really like the light floral scent. It was easy to apply to my hair. It's a creamy lotion consistency. I left it in for about 40 minutes under a plastic cap and scarf. Upon rinsing, my hair was soft and slightly strong.

I decided to follow up with the matching mask. I left this in for about 30 minutes with my plastic cap under my dryer. When I rinsed, my hair was noticeably strong. It was as if I had sprayed with Aphogee Keratin & Green Tea. I had no little pieces of breakage.

I didn't follow up with a moisturizing deep conditioner because I felt my moisturizers/leave ins were moisturizing enough. For my hair, they are a medium protein combined. Mind you, my hair can likes a good amount of protein weekly.

I like the products. What I will do next time is just use the mask by itself to see how my hair responds.

My fine texturized hair really likes frequent protein too...preferably keratin products. I applied the weekly treatment. Then realized the masque does NOT contain any keratin like rest of the line so I applied that right on top to save time. Did you notice this?

This may be why you felt you didnt need a moisturizing DC. I really like both products :)

I LOVE this HHJ!!

mshoneyfly So you used the mask right on top of the weekly treatment at the same time? I didn't realize the mask had no keratin. It has other less strong proteins in toward the middle of the ingredient list though. I can't imagine it being as strengthening by itself as the weekly treatment. Yet, the weekly treatment didn't give my hair that protein strong feel by itself either. :spinning:

My hair was definitely strong after using both. I could have used a moisturizing DC, but I chose not to, because I wanted to keep the strong feeling in my hair. I do really like both products.

I think the weekly treatment my be stronger than the mask, but together they are doubly strong. I will try the mask by itself next time just to be sure though.

It strengthened my hair like a light/normal protein treatment. I regret not using a moisturizing condition afterwards because my hair felt kinda dry. I was hoping to get a bit of strengthening and moisture to not have to follow up with another conditioner.

^^^@Frisky Silk Dreams Mocha Silk Infusion does that for me. I hope the mask does that for me too. I don't like to follow up with another DC unless it's a medium/strong protein. I don't have time to be using another dc after a light protein, since I use protein often.

I realized that in order for any mild-moderate protein treatment to be relevant on my hair, i should not use a moisturizing DC afterwards. All i need is a super moisturizing rinse out conditioner with lost of slip (SD destination hydration or joico moisture recovery) and a protein free leave in (PBN murumuru is excellent), and my hair remains strong with barely any breakage.
This winter has been so bad though, that i had to lay off the protein a bit (more mild than moderate treatment unless the breakage got alarming), cause my hair stayed super dry between the cold air outside, and the dry heat in the car and the house.
In general, unless i am doing a hard protein treatment, i skip the moisturizing DC. So my 2 step proteins are only as needed (maybe every 2-3 months).

Glad I'm not alone in this. I was beginning to think I might be doing something wrong or my hair was weird.

Of course none of the targets within a 1 hour drive have the line, so I'll have to wait until I go visit my parents in the summer

:notworthy: ronie Thank you thank you thank you! I thought I was crazy! I only started getting good results from SD Mocha Silk Infusion for example, only after I stopped using her extremely moisturizing Vanilla Silk afterward. I still had breakage and my hair was still super soft and not strong at all. Only after I stopped dcing afterward did it turn into my HG mild protein dc. A moisturizing leave in is sufficient.

You're not alone veesweets. Are you natural as well?

Well I am pleased with the products. My hair felt strong and still soft days later...no breakage in sight when I run my fingers over my ends. :drunk:

Froreal3 Yup I'm natural. I think my strands are finer than I realized, cause I never imagined I'd be using basically as much protein as I did when relaxed lol
