Yes, Prettywitty is definitely my hair inspiration! and weight loss inspiration too.

I really need to try her moisturizing mix using Hello Hydrations but I'm on moisture overload right now.

Girl you just finding her?! Where have you been?!

lol i dont know! ive just found her. maybe because now when i research i add relaxed ( im relaxing my virgin hair today).

i wasnt really watching relaxed hair ladies until this past month.

ive missed on some stuff huh!? where was i lol

Beautiful Hair. I'll send this vid to my mom who is still relaxed. She's about MBL but with lupus keeps getting stuck there and shedding. Maybe this will help her with inspiration. I'm trying to get her to stretch longer and longer and we already switch her to a relaxer recommended on here which got her from apl/bslish to MBL and stopped the breaking which made her have to keep cutting over and over (and that inverted V is gone).

So anyways maybe some of her tips can help her. I'm natural but still on the lookout for stuff to help my mom (and hair is longer I need to do a new update pic but whateva)

Thanks for the inspiration.

Her weight loss sparked an interest in me awhile ago. She is really good with her hair care.

What relaxer did she switch from and to?

Prettywitty77 is definitely one of my hair inspirations if not my hair twin. I love watching her videos, although some of her product advice would not work on my thin hair. Between her and this woman, who is my hair twin in hair thickness and density, I am finally confident I will reach waist length within the next year. :yep:

More details on the switch please.

She treats her relaxed hair like it is natural. I am loving her videos and inspiring hair growth!:yep: I think she was a member of LHCF some time ago or BHM.:yep:

@yynot and @nrock
just saw this

Yes I have researched a ton of relaxers on here until I knew the pluses and minuses for each one. I watched not only what people say, but the end result (and the result after a year or so because you can talk but it's about results)...and of course researched other forums, and reviews, etc. I know some say any relaxer works, but I knew from experience that was just not true for my hair, it could not "take" some brands, and I wanted something that work work to help straighten any hair type while still leaving strength and flexibility (if I decided to switch back to a relaxer that is which I didn't in my case but passed on the info to my mom). I watched threads for years before making a decision plus researched onlin e and came up with one (of two) that I would use if I ever went back to relaxers. I decided to stay natural but once I found my mom had issues with her hair (and upon visiting noticed her hair practices were on point with the exception of stretching...after trying just that and still seeing that inverted v we decided enough is enough), I convinced her to switch to my first choice http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000VLXMC6/ref=wms_ohs_product?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Linage which is a Dominican relaxer. SHe also uses the neutralizing conditioner and the hair mask with it too.

She was super nervous because she never heard of it, and of course it's not a "typical" relaxer, and on and on name brand she's used to. But after a while she was willing to try anything. Her hair thrived when she swtiched. She got all happy and carefree and forgot about linage:nono: and switched back for a second because she forgot to re order and got that inverted V again and breakage again which made her have to cut up to between bsl and shoulder length. By the time I visited earlier this year and there was a piece in the front that was shoulder length on the side and it was choppy plus the inverted v inbetween BSL/APL thing in the back. All because she switched back.

I was like WHAAAAT?!!! I know lupus does a number on hair already so I did everything I could to find the mildest and best relaxer (since she will not go natural with me) and her hair was thriving for the past year since she changed and now THIS mess. That's when I found out by going through a checklist (is she eating anything different, what is she doing different, what is she putting on her hair) and found she had switched right on back.:lachen: I was like MA! So we re ordered it. Come to find out I came back later in the year (late summer) and don't you know her hair was thriving again at MBL and NO inverted V (gone! Cut out and it didn't come back and hair grew and thrived) with the part at the side in the front slightly shorter (as it has catching up to do). This drastic change happened just from switching back to linage. Yes she has good hair practices all around but if a relaxer eats up your hair, it doesn't matter.

BTW before she had affirm which everyone says is good but I remember when I was relaxed I'd get to a point and it looked good but then at a certain point it would break in certain areas, so I thought maybe it's too strong in some way and that's why I got my mom to switch. So at any rate now it's linage.

She also stretches, uses coconut or avocado oil to seal and of course she has a wide tooth comb and does everything else well so it's a matter of time as to how long it gets. It sucks when you're doing everything right and you know it, but your hair is still a mess and it's something tiny that you can tweak and everything is better. She can't help the lupus, but I know with other stress taken away hair still thrives (and in this case it was the harsher relaxer). How do I know? I have Graves (thyroid Disease) and my hair is now past WL eying HL (old pic up there it's now in braids). I had to do things to take away "stress" so my hair could strive like everyone else's but that's just the way it is. So anyways linage after that long winded story.

wow. this was a very interesting point. no matter how good you are to your hair a relaxer can eat it up if its not the right one. ive heard people rave about linage. i cant find that here in paris. oh and the stylist relaxed bone straight which i wanted to avoid but i will try catching up on my own.

Is there a way to order it online? Amazon is where I get my mom's. She can't get it in stores where she lives.

I'm surprised you can't find Linage in Paris, as from my understanding the company that makes it is in Italy, even though it's very popular in the Dominican Republic. :ohwell:

Linange is a lye relaxer, but it's supposedly very mild, so that should not matter as long as you only use it on your new growth. Stretching your relaxer helps to prevent overlap. I have seen many women switch back and forth between lye and no lye with no ill effects, as long as they avoided overlap and kept their previously relaxed hair in good condition. :yep:

great! !

i will have to be careful for the texture results.

Thanks for the info, Luckiestdestiny. I remember some of what you said from the Chlorella thread, but I couldn't remember if you mentioned the relaxer by name. I am transitioning, but I am keeping my options open for the future. I am between bsl and mbl and would love if something could get me over the top.
