I'm here
I LOVE these rollers! In the past I've used curlformers (SO uncomfy to sleep on, and takes foreverrrr to dry)

and caruso rollers (quick, but the curls don't last longer than a day or 2)

but these satin rollers are my new favorite... They were $2.50 for a pack of 14, and I only used 7 or 8. I put them on freshly washed/blow-dried/straightened hair, but without any additional heat or products & slept on them overnight. The curls have lasted (I'm on day #4) without doing anything to protect them (wrapping, pin-curling, etc).
Here's what it looked like on day #1:

Has anyone else used these? I remember seeing my grandmother set her hair on these when I was little.
Haha - I've seen them, just never thought they'd actually work on me!^^I feel old. You are talking about regular rollers like they are something special![]()
Thank you! I've been a member for a couple years, but I'm only now getting into actually postingAll that beautiful hair and only 46 posts?!!! You need to come out of lurkdom and talk to us about that beautiful hair! LOL
I will try this tonight on a pin curl. I don't know if I could get all my hair in that type of roller.
Please tell me how you get your hair so shiny
Haha - I've seen them, just never thought they'd actually work on me! Thank you! I've been a member for a couple years, but I'm only now getting into actually postingI was surprised that I only needed 7 or 8 to do my whole head, but I think blowdrying/flat ironing definitely took a lot of volume out, so I didn't need to use so many. I want to see what happens when I try it on air-dried hair. I use Carol's Daughter Monoi shampoo & MoroccanOil Moisture Repair conditioner when washing, MoroccanOil Oil treatment, Garnier Fructis Blowdry perfector & a round brush when blowdrying, and flat iron with a Babyliss 1.25" Nano Titanium. I wash weekly, relax every 4-6 weeks with Dr. Miracle's (Regualr strength), and get layers cut around the 6-month mark. Took me a while to figure out what worked best for me, but this has my hair happy!

My hair definitely curls easier/holds a curl better after a cut, I don't know why though. Maybe the layers make it so shorter lengths can "sit" on top of longer ones instead of getting clumped together because it's all the same length?I love your layers. I tried the pin curls last night and it looked nice, but by 10am my hair was flat again LOL I'll have to try the rollers. I wonder if cutting my hair into layers would help.
For me, I think using such a small diameter was what did it - the curls ended up like what I'd get with a 1-1.5" curling ironI use those satin rollers and my hair don't look like that

SO CRAZY! Not that I'm asking questionsI use a similar type of satin roller sometimes and get decent curls. The crazy thing is it only takes a short amount of time to get a decent curl. Granted its NOTHING Like her/your curls but it's nice for a cute updo. I need to go and buy the ones posted here but my expectations aren't high.

I used 5/8" ones, the smallest I could find - I agree that larger ones probably wouldn't work as well! What size rollers did you use? I have satin rollers but I think they are too big to give me nice curls especially on dry hair.
Thanks! I didn't do anything to maintain, just slept with it either down or pulled up in a ponytail. I'm on day #5 today & the curls have dropped into waves, but that was because I was running around doing errands & overheated - it was still curly this morning though. You could probably go even longer if you pin-curled or something protective at night.Very pretty, amazing shine too. How do maintain it overnight
It was completely dry - I had already blow-dried/flat ironed it before I put the rollers in, they were an afterthought/experiment.How wet/dry is your hair when you put the rollers in?

I used satin rollers years ago but they were the kind that didn't have a rod in them (they bent in half without a clasp or hook to secure them). They worked well but it was hit or miss at times. These look like the old school sponge rollers but covered in satin. Is that what these are? Those sponge rollers could hold a curl for years but would dry out your hair. This seems like a great alternative as long as they are comfortable to sleep in. How much of your hair are you able to roll? It looks like only the bottom 2 or 3 inches are curled. Are you pulling the hair into a ponytail when you go to sleep?

I just found these rollers on amazon. $2.35 for 14 rollers and free shipping. Even if I never use them I can't afford not to buy them lol. I wonder how well they would work on air dried hair? I don't own a blow dryer and I don't have the skills/patience for flat ironing. If I only have to roll my hair once a week and can have curls all week, I would be in heaven. I may even give up bunning and get layers cut in my hair. Look at me getting all carried away. My texlaxed hair will probably frizz up immediately.
They work on air dried hair, as long as you moisturize and seal, they will come out pretty, I had some like two years ago, I think I left mines at my moms, I had the satin pillow rollers. I would suggest putting something in your hair for hold if you want it to last longer
