I'm doing my own big chop Monday. Any advice?

So, after 2 years of transitioning (really 3, but I relaxed once after a year and had to start all over), I've decided to do the BC. I'm really excited but I have to do it myself because I don't trust anyone to cut my hair. I am going to find a stylist to give me a trim when I do straighten it and I may get my natural hair shaped if I can find a good stylist.

But before I do it on Monday, does anyone have any advice for me? What to do before or after???

Make sure to cut your hair when its wet. That way you can see the two textures much easier. I also recommend getting someone to help you with the back if possible. I did it myself but I ended up cutting one side more than the other so I had lopsided hair for a few months LOL

I agree, cut it wet and make sure you get some good shears. Then take a deep breathe and go for it...You won't regret it:congrats:

Take before during and after pictures and post them on here, if you can or are willing to. :yay:

Definitely! Thanks for reminding me to take pictures because sometimes I just go for stuff and forget to take pics in the process.

I did my own BC too. I made sure my hair was wet and used a bit of cheapie condish to help really show the difference in the textures. Made it super easy to be able to see where to cut. Do it in sections and in small to medium pieces. Good luck and can't wait to see pics!
