...have gone and overhauled the ingredients to pretty much their entire line? :nono: Can't believe the Nourish & Shine is no longer a sealant, the Nutrient Replenishing conditioner now has some stronger protein (bad news for me) and their Wrap & Roll now has some chemicals that it didn't have before.

Comparing the ingredients from CurlMart to their new page, nothing is the same. IDGI did she get bought out?

Maybe it has something to do with their deal with Target and the new product line they came out with. Just guessing though. The prices of their products have been dropping over the past year, they may have had to change the ingredients to bring the product cost down.

That explains a lot. I bought the travel kit and it didn't work well for me. It was not like my previous experience with their products.

*SIGH*

I love their leave in. Guess I'll have to use what I have and move on with my life....AGAIN!.

I seriously cannot stand reformulations:(.

:detective: thanks for letting us know. I hate it when they change the formula and don't put a new and improved warning on the bottle.

I wish there was a way to get advance warning before a company reformulates. So people could stock up a bit on the old formula (in case the new one is trash, which is often the case).

No wonder! Grabbed a new bottle of the leave in and it had my hair so dry and thirsty. I tossed it. :nono:

Dang......I love the nourish snd shine.....I have a just opened one and a back-up.....I use it religiously....and when I braid all my little girl's hair.....

I'm waiting for a follow up response, but I just received this email response from one of the Jane Carter representatives.

Hi,

Hope all is well, no, neither Nourish & Shine or Nutrient Replenishing Conditioner have been reformulated.

Please let me know what made you speculate that they have been reformulated?

Best,

I explained to her pretty much where the spectulation is coming from. I will let you know the follow up!

They need to get it together. The ingredients on the site are different than what's on the current bottles and jars.

This is what they told me
The main ingredients in our conditioner have always been the same (water, wheat protein, Behentrimonium Methosulfate, etc.)

When manufacturing natural products, some times we use pre-created blends, created by 3rd party sources (our raw materials supplier). Sometimes because of natural elements, some ingredients get increasingly more expensive, as a result they reformulate the blend. The specifics of the blend are included on our label, even if sometimes 10 ingredients combined only total to 5% of the contents. When making natural products, natural elements deeply affect the cost, for example, after a hurricane Grapefruit oil skyrocketed for the season, or Jojoba Oil, after a huge bug issue, the price increased almost double.

As a business we have to be conscious of keeping the integrity and quality of our products while being cost conscious.

Please let me know if this makes sense or if you need some further explanation.

Thanks!

Good looking out so1913 please do post if they say something else.

If they changed the ingredients why they re saying they didn't .I m confused ,can someone provide a link with the allegedly new ingredients pls?

Here's the representatives response. I feel comfortable with the product ingredients and will continue to use. I've been using Nourish & Shine for over 10 years so I couldn't let this go without getting a response straight from the source lol. She mentioned stopping by the various forums to address and clarify this issue, but I definitely encourage anyone with concerns to contact the company directly, they will get back to you!

Thank you for your response. I just saw the water on the Nourish & Shine ingredient list. That was a typo. I will have it changed immediately. There is no water in Nourish & Shine, it is made of Natural butters, essential oils and vitamins.

In regards to the Nutrient Replenishing Conditioner, we made a minor change from wheat protein to soy protein due to the concern about a increase in gluten allergies. This is a very minor change and will not impact the integrity of the product, whatsoever.

Jane, our only and sole formulator was a stylist for 25+ years and has formulated each and every product. Jane formulates the products strictly based on performance, and so that they truly work and improve the health of your hair.

Our products continue to be 98-100% natural and were strictly created based on performance. I assure you the integrity of our products have not changed.

Please let me know which message boards have posted about possible ingredient changes so that I may address the issue.

Thank you again for your comment and concern. Please let me know if you have any other questions or concerns.
