I don't really follow her like that but perhaps she likes her hair to be that length. I purposely wore a fade for 2 years. Maybe she is not on a length journey. I don't know but her hair looks good to me.

I honestly don't think she cares about length. She takes care of her hair, but not nearly as intensely as some of us. I think she's a "As long as it looks and feels good" kind of girl. Ya know, the girl who takes care of her hair well enough so that it won't become damaged.

I never understood the whole no retention thing either :perplexed:. However, her hair always comes of swangin' and bangin', so I tend to overlook it :look:.

Yes and she has said this but some people don't get it and I don't know why. I don't even know why this thread was even started.

She's addicted to weaves and sew-ins and she really doesn't handle her hair like someone on a healthy hair journey.

Just my opinion

she has said it numerous times that she does not want long hair

Receipts? Cause I think that's bullsh*t. I've been subscribed to Ateeya since Aphogee, and I remember how excited she used to get when she would make progress and how sad she was when she had that set back. I think that's when she started wearing wigs extra heavy, IIRC. Now who would prefer to wear a long a$$ wig nearly everyday, but doesn't want their own hair to grow at all? It seems like if you just like short hair then you would want to wear short hair, at least part time.

I know we are members here, but truly IRL, there are plenty of happy women with their short hair. Some women purposely go to get their hair cut to maintain the look.

Her end results look good!:yep:

She's relaxed, right? I believe some people can't grow long hair w/a relaxer. I'm one of them. I tried extremely long stretches and everything healthy and it always broke when I had a touch-up. I rarely see long, thick, healthy haired relaxed women.

Maybe u should go back and look at the video she said it in. She said she keeps her at that length b/c she likes it and the swang and it looks thicker at that length. I've followed her since she started, too. Just b/c you wear wigs doesn't mean u want long hair. Wigs&weaves provide protection to the hair and gives u another/different look. Hell some people just like wigs and weaves just like some don't.

I remember she was growing it out then she had that weave disaster and lost a lot and that's when she said she liked that short length. There was a video before that she had with decent growth and enjoyed her hair so I don't buy she likes that length story any more. If she did all those wigs and weaves would be shorter.

She needs to return to aphogee

I'm glad her hair bounced back after that dreadful (thanks, Dwight) setback with the sew-in. But I do agree some women prefer shorter styles. I just cut mine down to a Caesar for the summer!

Yeah it's still short but I'm not that pressed to even care. It's still swinging unlike some stiff heads (on here) so she's doing something right in that regards.

I think I would question her length if it was broken off with thin ends, etc, but her hair looks plenty healthy. Not everyone wants long hair. There were times where I kept my hair a certain length for years, just because.

Do you intend to rock that Caesar? Or are you gonna slap a hip length wig over it for the rest of the summer? :spinning:

That's funny cause some people around here thought she needed to leave it alone. Ateeya damn if she do and damn if she don't. LOL

But anyway that part of her hair grew back but the longer her hair, it didn't look as thick as it did to her and maybe had less swang. So this is why she prefers her normal length.

Her hair is nice.

I'm one of those people who would wear short hair if I could. I don't have the face for it and tried for so many years, so many different short styles and my oblong face just wouldn't have it. I'd love to wear a cute relaxed pixie style, but that was the first of many I tried, and it was a no go.

Ateeya's hair has swang because she uses high heat and no product. It's that simple folks. Swang is not some mythical creature from Middle Earth. But most of us would not use that technique unless we wanted to be neck length for the rest of our journeys.

Question: What was the purpose of Ateeya using all of those Nu Gro products if she didn't want her hair to "gro"? :look: Why was she using that brown protein gel her stylist gave her, because he said it would make her hair grow back faster, if she didn't want her hair to... grow back faster?

I love her hair! It's so gorgeous and healthy! Getting ready to check those products out.

This is true. As a natural, when flat ironed without product, it did that same thing. I'm relaxed again and if I use the fine comb attachment even as far out as 8 weeks post it still has swing like that because I just use a watery leave in.

I don't follow her but when I stumble upon her vids, her hair is always bouncy and shiny and looks great. Thumbs up for that.
