Has anyone tried this and how did you deal with your hair? I'm APL transitioning, 1 yr post relaxer.

Put your hair in a bun.
You'll need to wash or cowash post session (because of sweat).

I usually pre-poo with oil or deep condition during class because like yaya said, you will need to wash your hair after. I wear my hair pinned up in braids on in a puff or bun.

How often do you go to class and how do you style your hair after class? I'm trying to talk my friend into going, but does not want to sweat her hair out. She has WL super-duper thick relaxed hair. She typically does not do her own hair. She visits the salon every 2 weeks.

I just bought a 1 month pass and would like to go 3x a week.

I used to do baptiste yoga also heated. Just the breathing techniques can make you sweat without the heated room. I had braids in a bun. If your friend doesn't want to sweat her hair out I don't think heated yoga is gonna work out for her. If she does it right she will be drenched by the end of class.

Thanks ladies! Looks like I will be going alone. I just will have to start co-washing and bunning my hair after class. Hopefully I can gain some flexibility and hair growth!

I tried bikram yoga but I have to be honest. My hair was the last of my worries. I was just trying not to pass the "what" out! That room changed my mind! If hell is anything like that room... Lord help! Lol! Seriously though, I wore braids and moisturized as much as possible. I moisturized my hair and drank like 2 bottles of water before I entered the room. I think I sweat all 2 bottles out...

I just Co washed after. However I only went once cause I threw up in the class o_O Not a beginners yoga, nope...

I'm not illiterate. It's my phones auto correct

I do Bikram twice a week, afterwards I wash and set my hair in braids or twists for a braid out or twist out.

Bikram is not for girls who wish to wear their hair straight. I used to go twice a week and I would just deep condition. I'd slather my hair with condish slapped on a shower cap and a towel turban on top. After I rinsed out my hair and it was always so soft. That class does wonders for the body and hair.

:bump:

Is anyone else here still doing hot/Bikram yoga? I haven't done it in almost 13 years and I wasn't necessarily on a healthy hair journey at the time. I do work out 5-6 days a week and wash my hair 2x a week but I don't sweat nearly as much as I would in a hot yoga class. Definitely looking for tips and advice to deal with the extra manipulation my hair will be taking if I were to do this 3-4 days a week...

I'll be going back once I'm cleared to work out. I wigged it up last time I was going 4-5 times a week and now that my hair is longer I'll probably go back to the wigs during the winter months. I refuse to have a set back messing with my hair too much while doing my body good. (I'm relaxed).

i'm natural so i wear a scarf with my hair twisted underneath when i have done bikram in the past. i haven't done it in a while though.

I went tonight and had to cowash since my hair got so wet. I would like to do this three days a week along with my normal workouts but I need to make this easier on my hair. Currently looking for a conditioner with tons of slip.
