Grow an inch per week? Is this real or BS?

My hair has grown an inch in a week. But I have normal growth rate. This usually happens in the summer or when you get your growth spurt. IT DOESN'T happen every week. You can trigger a growth spurt, but your overall annual growth will be what it is.

I guess I ended up getting maybe an inch a month. I cut my bangs to eyeball length in June, and they just hit neck length this February with a three inch trim. That equals about eight inches in around eight months.

Unless there are legitimate before and after where updates in the middle...then maybe I can consider buyin when other LHCF have tested the product

You know what I have a problem with...one YouTube lady did a growth video. She did a length check on unstretched natural hair. Then 3 months later on her length check, she does it on blow dried hair saying she got 3 inches in 3 months.

If thats the case...anyone can gain a plethora of inches from non-stretched to stretched new growth. LHCFers aren't stupid.

I read this then has a dream that I grew 6 inches in 3 weeks. Lulz. Guess dreamin about it has gotta be enough.!

while youre upside down click your heels together three times and say i wish my hair would grow i wish my hair would grow. :lachen::lachen::lachen:

The YT video did not play very well on my laptop so I only heard the first 1.5 minutes and was unable to go to the hairlista reference - BUT when I was young my mother made us do exactly what the young lady on youtube mentioned.

  • Oil hair
  • Brush hair with head down for 5 minutes.
The reason given by my mom is exactly what the young lady said - increased blood flow to the head - promotes hair shine and growth.
And for those interested - my Mom past last year at the age of 88 and she was from the south. She was old fashioned and you know she did not believe or partake in frivolous whims and shennanigans.

But I think the 1" growth per week claim is a stretch

Not sure what else was said in the video

I didn't chime in because I thought people were just having an issue with the 1" a week. But if the issue is with the turning your head upside, that is oldschool stuff. This is just a different version of some of the other things we use on LHCF to stimulate circulation: scalp massages, essential oils, exercise.

Increasing circulation to the scalp can help you achieve your maximum growth rate, whatever that is for you. Anytime circulation is improved in an area it is beneficial. But you can also improve your circulation through scalp massages.

This may just have been forgotten in recent times.

I remember doing the whole head inversion thing some time ago, I couldn't handle it. The increased pulse beating in my head was too much. Its nothing new though.

I'm not gonna lie, I tried it but I was more interested in the nausea/ dizzy feeling people were saying they would feel. I get really bad migraines, I actually get disability for them but I tried it because when I got a Trans-Doppler exam, they could see where some blood vessels in my head were being restricted and contributing to my migraines so I was trying to see if the increased blood flow would help. I used to do head stands all the time, but I never thought of checking how it effected my growth. I have Senegalese twists in my hair and I oiled my scalp with castor oil/sublime sulfur mix and saturated my braids with the kimmaykay aloe conditioner. I bent at the waist and massaged my scalp for 4 minutes. I didn't feel nauseous or dizzy but shortly after I stood vertical, my scalp was iiiiiiiitchy then a little tingly. I don't want to contribute the tingling solely to the inversion, I never really massage my scalp so it could have been the scalp massage as well. I got the Senegalese twists in my hair on Feb 1 and just got the perimeter redone.... My hair had already grown .75" so far. No harm in trying, especially since I don't have to purchase anything! Lol

The first pic on the left is from 1 Feb and the pic on the right is from 11 Feb. I will take a pic of how that same spot looks like in the morning and every day for the next week to see daily comparison. If it really caused that much growth, then I should be able to see the difference in growth in a daily basis. Idk, we'll see.. I'm already in bed with my hair tied up. I need to take my tail to sleep! Lol

Okay, I don't know about the 1 inch in week, however several years ago I tried hanging my head over the side of my bed for about 3 minutes a day. I did this for ten days and had noticeable results. I have no idea how much my hair grew, but when I went into the salon for a relaxer my stylist noticed the growth and commented "Wow, your hair definitely grew." She never commented on my hair growth prior to that and I never told her about the hanging over the bed thing. The evil, scissor happy **** then proceeded to chop all my hair off, but that's neither here nor there.

All this to say, 1 inch a week may be questionable, but hanging upside down/over the edge of the bed works.
