Yall know I love color:drunk:. Below are a few examples of the colors I've had in the last 2 months. Any way my boss asked me 2 days ago if I wanted a promotion. I said of course:look:. He said I will help you get, but you have to dye your hair back black. :perplexed

Of course I know my hair is not work friendly, but I didn't expect to have to dye it normally until I graduate and started a real career and I did get this job with green hair. Is there anyway that I can hide this with out having to really dye it back black. I will of course for the promotion, but maybe something else can be done. Suggestions? The green hair was last month. The purple, blue, and green is what I just did this week.

I personally would not let hair colour hinder me from advancing in my career.

is there any way to disguise the colour streaks, like pin some hair over it ?

I would do the rinse, if that would cover it. I could suggest some ways to hide it but if they don't work and your boss sees it, your promotion may be out the door if he feels like you tried to trick him or get over. I would rinse it black and find some of those wash off sprays to add color on the weekend.

I'm not going to miss my promotion over some hair color. :lachen:If I have to I will dye. I want to hear some ways I can hide or disguise it:look:. Like lay a track on it some way? I'm not sure if that would even work. Like he may want to SEE that it's been dyed.

My boss is really down to earth so I'm going to pin it down and go to work and asking him first. If he says it won't work than I will put a black rinse on it this weekend. It took me 6 months of waiting to get that bright color like I wanted. I dyed all my hair black except these pieces.

You can probably do a side part and braid or twist that piece and pin it under. If you want a professional look it will have to dyed a natural color at some point.

Spray on hair color. Look in wal-mart near the dyes meant to cover grays. Spray it on during the week, wash it out during the weekend.

i lurve your color :) it reminds me of a peacock. consider what everybody else said spray color, semi/demi permanent color, wigs, etc. a wig would be great cause you would be protetive styling during the week at work.

I work in a very casual type IT field. People are tatted up and everything! My immediate supervisor over my boss is very conservative:perplexed. The wig and spray colors are great suggestions. I think I want a curly wig:look:. I have a comb over swoop bang type thing going today. No color showing. I'm glad we had this talk before this weekend when I was gonna take the color up a notch:look::lachen:

Thanks. SO I went with my comb over and asked my boss what did he think. He was shocked and amazing and then he started looking deeper. He ruffled my hair a little bit and he said I see that **** and laughed. IDK. The wig may be the best bet.

I know hair doesn't mean much in a long run and I would never let my hair hinder me, but my hair is a integral part of who I am. For me that hair color is an expression of freedom and shows a little bit of who I am as a person. If I dye it black because I am forced to, well I just feel like that will kill a little bit of who I am.

But you said he laughed...he only ruffled it because he already knew the color was there. Did he say it was still unacceptable? Did you ask him?

I know your hair is important to you and your individual expression but keep it in perspective. You aren't forced to do anything. Options are presented before you and you make a choice based on what you value. But make sure you know what you value and what has a priority. Then make all of your decisions from there.

When I want to change a portion of my hairs color I will use the spray color in the can and spray a section....it eventually combs and washes out......just an idea that you get color back when you are not at work without having to dye it.

Good luck.

He never said it was unacceptable. Only that if I wanted a promotion having a more conservative look would make me look better. There are people at my job with way brighter pinks and yellows and oranges.

He actually *put his hands* in your hair? :ohwell: that's very different. A little strange (to me) for someone commenting on professionalism in the workplace.

Yes he did. He is very casual and friendly. It's his immediate boss (who has to approve promotions) who is the one that is conservative. You have to be interviewed by a panel of 5 to 7 people. He just said that I would look more professional and be considered seriously if I didn't have green and purple hair.

Nope. Most of the yt people are very conservative.

Soooo can u tell me how u got that color??? What products did u use??
Well I'm relaxed. I bleached my bangs for about 45 minutes. For the color I used manic panic atomic turquoise and ultra violet.

People are noticing my lack of color. I have had my color pinned away for 2 days and people came up to me and asked me what's wrong with me and am I sick because I seem quiet and look different. :lachen:A lot of people came up to me with this face  asking why did I dye my hair.

Step 1. Purchase wig
Step 2. Get promotion
Step 3. After getting said promotion, take wig off and wear your hair as you please.

He said u need the hair to get the promotion, not to keep it *shrugs*
