For the most part, AVJ don't work for me either. Only certain products that contain it will work but it's the luck of the draw for me. I wonder why it makes our hair hard and dry and it makes others hair so moist and supple.

I however do like knot sauce. Mostly on dry hair.

Yes, it's weird. My hair love AOHC and SD's Creme de la silk which has avj. I wonder if mixing it with lots of oils and butters takes away it's potency for me...Hmm!

I've just used knot sauce to take down some braids on DD's number 1 and 2. Looks like my AVJ problem runs in the family.

*Yep,my hair/scalp likes AOHC,I have no problem with that..Been using it for years,Fall/winter product..Don't have issues with SD either..I think it's the formulation.

I'm sorry to hear that. Hopefully you can find something that works for all of you. My hair normally can't take aloe and Shea high on the list and def not mixed together.

I hope you find something that works for you all. My fab DC is Sitrinillah. No protein, no Shea, no aloe. My fab leave in is prura Muru Muru. No protein, no Shea, no aloe either. HTH
