This is a picture of me, yeah the filter is annoying, gotta love instagram, but its one of the pictures that captures my true beauty lol I no longer look like a boy. Comments? Dye brand suggestions? Do you think it'll look nice? Be brutal!

Good luck Op, cute color. I have no suggestions. Keep us posted and post pictures for us when you make the change! I want to color too, just too scared.

I would strongly suggest using Garnier's hair color line designed for ladies with dark hair.

I used the Light Intense Auburn on previously dyed hair and ended up with great results.

You could always try the same color or their Medium Intense Auburn

NikkiQ I was thinking garnier, how did your hair feel afterwards

Well, my suggestion would be to lift your hair about 1-2 levels using a developer. Volume 20 or 30 should be good, no higher than that cause it may come out too bright. You can also try a boxed dye to lift it to a medium brown, which is what I did. After that I would suggest either using the Adore Brand or Manic Panic. These are the only two hair color brands I have much experience with but they are both very good, not too pricy, and safe. There's no need to mix the or anything you just put them on your hair as is and leave them on for the allotted time that is listed in the directions.

For info on lightening your hair with a developer you can search on youtube.

If you want to use a box color I would suggest Dark & Lovely, Textures & Tones, or Revlon. Textures and tones will give you the exact color that is on the box, revlon will give you a slightly lightened tone depending on what shade you pick i would pick a light brown color if u want a medium brown result/ After you have lightened your hair find a temporary or semi-permanent hair dye in a deep red tone and apply that a week later (do not dye your hair twice in the same day, give it a week to a month).
