I know that I have to cut them BUT

How can I prevent this from happening again?
What should I include in my regimen?

Do you use heat? I know for me when I use a lot of heat, the high temperatures along with the manipulation can cause multiple mid-shaft splits.

What is your current routine?
Using a lot of protein/not maintaining moisture balance can cause splits too.

Are you gentle when you handle your hair?
Do your combs have seams?
Are your trimming shears dull? (I thought having dull shears didn't matter, but I have actually seen them cause splits on my hair.)

Not regularly. I flat ironed my hair maybe 3-4times last year. I was blow drying by-weekly but I have stopped. And I always use a protectant

My routine is not fixed at all, so I can't say. I don't think I use alot of protein but when I do I usually dc afterwards. But I will start steaming again.

Nope, no combs with seams but my blow drying attachment has seams. I have sharp shears definitely.

I get them when i manipulate my hair when its too wet. Since I've started detangling my hair before i wash it in plaits. I also allow it to dry completely before styling it. It seems to work. Although some of the damage takes a while to show.

Did you use high temp any of those times?

I got multiple splits at one point but I think that was from using too high heat the first time I tried to straighten my hair :perplexed
