Hi all! My hair was starting to suffer from swimming and cold Michigan winter so I decided to try crochet braids. I think they turned out pretty good for my first attempt....

Wow, looks really nice ecadnacmc. Great job for a first attempt! I've been thinking about doing crotchet braids but never attempted it.
What type of hair did you use and what style were the cornrows? TIA

you did a great job. Ive been wanting to try these. What did u do with the length of ur hair?

Sent from my T-Mobile myTouch Q using LHCF

Sorry for the delayed response couldn't remember the hair type so had to look it up online. Yes I cut the hair in half to install and then cut it an angle when I was finished. I braided my hair back then braid the all the braids together, tucked and secured ends back up to a side braid with yarn. Then to further secure I did several crochet braids over my hair ends. It's kind of bulky in back but you can't tell because I used less hair in the back.

I did 13 cornrows going back and secured ends with black silky yarn (afraid to use weaving thread) and two packs of Freetress water wave braid in #2

Thanks for the info! I plan on giving it a try next month.

After braiding my hair back I braided all the braids to one side and then secured the ends with black silky yarn. I then did several crochet braids over the ends to further secure. Hair is kind of bulky in back but you don't really notice because I spaced the crochet braids farther apart in the back and closer together in the front. The closer together the hair the less hair I used.

I felt the same way. I've had hair for like 2 months and was too scared to try. But my hair was drying out and I have a week off for vacation so I figured worse case scenario if it came out bad I had plenty of time to take it out.

Lol! It's really not that hard to do. Much easier and quicker than braids/twist/pseudlocs extensions. But for real.... How much u willing to pay? Lol

Looks really natural! I love Crochet braids!! Such a great protective style.
I'm might have to try that hair next time. :yep:
