Based on reviews I shall be partaking in a botlle in the vanilla pound cake scent. I am having trouble deciding between the 2 formulas. I want to use it to oil scalp especially edges and nape and to try prepooing.

TIA!

For finer textures I suggest the featherweight, I also suggest it for those who prefer lighter oils. I however prefer heavier oils so I chose the original formula w/o the fragrance. I didnt want to pay extra......I had a cheap moment :lachen:

Thanks! I was thinking the featherweight for regular scalp oiling/sealing and using the regular formula for my edges/nape/prepoo

I'll wait on others to chime in...

I have the regular formula and I found it too heavy at first but I'm used to it now after a week. You just have to figure out how much to apply

I thought the ingredients might be too diluted in the featherweight formula

This must be some kind of Dejavu. Where was this thread, yesterday? I had to use the search button for my research. Anywayyyyyys, I just placed my hair trigger order today.

I purchased the regular formula and I didn't get it scented, since I have about 25 new fragrances I figured If necessary I'll scent my own. But, I always want to smell the original formula first. I thought about purchasing the featherweight ,also, but my inner voice said "go slow, PJ."

IDareT'sHair- I will surely let you know about the scent I choose. I just saw in the other thread what you said about the featherweight. I wonder what the irritant in it is for you. I'm glad I didn't try it first. I tried the original based on some of your comments that I read when I was doing research. You hadn't opened the featherweight box yet. I know products affect people differently, still glad I chose original.

If I understood what the site says, I thought both original and featherweight had the same ingredients, but featherweight has grapeseed and safflower. Those are the only two ingredients with the asterisk. Did you get the featherweight scented? That could cause irritation. Did you add a herbal tincture? Glad the original is working out for you.

@kellistarr

I didn't add anything in it no tinctures and additives.

The FW also smelled entirely different than the Regular which was also interesting.

I already know Rosemary & Citrus Oils are irritants for me. I just couldn't figure it out. My face was hot and irritated.

I think the same thing happened to @jprayze

Yes, I had the experience with the Regular...nothing additional added. I haven't been able to figure it out. I don't have any known allergies to any of the ingredients. The only oil on the list that I haven't used is Clary Sage oil.

Does anyone have a referral friend code in which you like to share? I want to purchase but I would love to use a referral code. If you don't want to post it in this thread can you please pm me. Thx

Well, if all else fails, I hope I can at least use it as a cuticle oil for my toes.

That sucks. And yours was the regular oil. Most of the time I use oils as a treatment where I apply, leave in a few hours or overnight and wash out. Occasionally, I may leave in for a day. Hopefully, I'll at least be able to do the wash out method. We'll see. Good luck to me.

warning you might not smell the pepper but don't put your hands near your face[/QUOTE

Thanks for the heads up. The site has a warning that says after you apply to your hair, wash hands before touching your face. So, I take your warning seriously.

I'm PMing you now. I couldn't use the code, so at least you can put it to good use.

I had the pound cake scent...if that had anything to do with it. I passed it on to my friend and she had no problems. I do have very sensitive skin.

ive used both...and was the winner of their giveaway!! Sweet!

But I prefer the regular....But since I;m in a weave I'm using the featherlight with the added garlic, cayenne, and onion oil. So far so good! I just need a wig now!

Any particular reason that you prefer regular? No reaction to the product. This is good news!

I've used both and prefer the featherweight. I have fine 4b hair.

Any particular reason for your preference? I see, you have fine hair. Did you like anything about the regular?

Thanks Ladies!

Sooooo, It took me a minute to pull the trigger on my Hair Trigger, didn't want to go to work with it in my hair in case it stunk! I'm alright with the scent! I do get a whiff of "Cola." It's thickish, but not as thick as castor and I did not experience any irritation and it was in for 2 or 3 days. I just did my scalp.
I cannot see myself applying this 2x a day; that is not necessary for my head.

What do I think? This is a cool oil that I'm going to keep applying. Next time, I'm going to do the length of my hair, as a treatment. I'll have this bottle forever!

i wanna try making my own.....u ladies tried doin that already? how goed it for you?:spinning:

I plan to do this. Currently, I am saving my onion skins now and will hopefully make my first batch in March. Have you decided yet on making your own or purchasing a bottle?

Many thanks in advance for your response,
