Can someone tell me what's going on with her Straight ends on natural hair?

She has a loose hair texture so it may be just how her hair grows.

Even with tighter curls many of us just have sections that grow in looser than others. I imagine when my hair gets to be a certain length there will be ladies who will try to claim "heat damage" for my hair that grows in right behind my ears and the back of my head.

Yeah I kept chopping the back of my hair and when I left it alone I realized the texture was alot looser and gets weighed down very easily. Looks like heat damage next to my tighter coils.

I agree with the looser texture. I have this 'problem' though I spent years trying to cut away this alleged damage though I don't use heat (only once a year to trim/cut). Finally embraced it!
