For those of you that have nailed your staples and really only buy what you need, when you go shopping do you buy enough to last a certain amount of time? Like if you want it last a few months how much do you pick up. (I know answers will vary due to length and specific regimens but I am curious) If not and you only purchase one bottle/jar/tube at a time. Then how long does it take until you have to repurchase? I hope my question makes sense.

I will purchase one at a time. I havent purchased anything in a while since I'm trying to use up older items (using things outside of my regimen) and am trying gifted items for reviews. But when I do purchase, I'll purchase one at a time, except for regular conditioner and DCs. Those I'll get 2 at a time because they last the shortest time. Shampoos last for several months. Moisturizers and leave-ins I buy one at a time and they last a while as well because I use a few at a time so they take a while to use up.

I buy 5 bottles of VO5, 2 bottles of Tresemme Naturals, 1 bottle of aloe vera gel, and a gallon of aloe vera juice. This supply lasts about a month and a half. I was purchasing one bottle of this and one bottle of that, but I was having to go back to the store too much. If any of my staples are on sale, I'll usually double or triple up.

for my hair wash i use trader joes condish with bentonite clay, i usually buy just 2 conditioners at a time right before i run out and i order my clay when its only enough for 1-2 more mixes.

I buy everything 2 at a time. A lot of what I like goes on sale bogo so that's part of the reason. The other reason is I hate running out of stuff.

I usually just buy one bottle at a time unless it's on sale or clearance for a good price. A 33oz bottle of conditioner/shampoo generally lasts me three weeks or so and I wash my hair every day or every other day.

haaaaay even PJs have staples

I stock up for at least 6 months on staples like HairVeda and silk Dreams

co-washers,
16oz will last me about 2.5 - 3 months (I wash every 7 - 10 days)

leave ins
8oz will last me about 1 - 1.5 months (using every day)

conditioners
8oz will last me about 6 - 8 uses (DC every 7 - 10 days)

pre-made spritzes
8oz will last me about 2.5 to 3 months (using about 2 times a day)

using these estimations I decide how much of each product I will get depending on the size (8, 16, or 32oz)

I make one purchase when I'm running low. Then, I might try a new product but not likely.

These liter sizes seem to last 3-4 months or longer:
Giovanni 50:50 shampoo
Giovanni 50:50 DC
Giovanni Direct Leave-in
EVOO gallon from Sams

Tresemme Naturals is purchased maybe every month. Lastly, I use an egg yolk from the fridge as needed.

When I am buying rinse out condish or DC's I buy 2-3 at a time, cause they go so fast I don't want to keep running back to the store. When I buy shampoo, leave-in's or styling aids I buy one at time cause they last a long time, a few months (that's a long time to me) lol

I will purchase 2-4 if there is a sale but I always keep one in use and at least one backup.

Oh you said non PJ's *exits thread*:)

 I used to be one. I know what it's like to walk into a Walgreens or Target for something unrelated to hair and walk out without that thing and a bag full of cheapie conditioner, leave ins or some other thing I read about here.

You can still answer. How often do you buy your staples?

I stock up because I cannot get my staples close to me. I detangle/co-wash with Trader Joe conditioners and the store is 45 mins and an international border away from me so I usually buy 6-8 when I go there. I don't plan my trips, but go, on average, about 1x every 2 months.

My other staples, I plan to stock up during sales. For example, I am hoping to buy 12 of the DB Cocoa Cream during BF to last me a yr.

I dont have many staples nor do i think i need to. But i only open my products one at a time so im usually using the same product for a month or two consistently before trying out a new one. The few products that i do rebuy often i buy 2 at a time cause I hate running out of stuff that I no I love :)

I usually buy my oils once a year. I buy a big 1/2 gallon and mix them with my home made conditioners and/or concoctions. Or I use these oils for pre-pooing my hair. I also will either buy bases and make my own stuff or buy Suave Naturals. I also like Shea Moisture products and will grab one or two jars if its on sale.

When I make a purchase it will last me about 2-3 weeks at a time. If I make an internet purchase I try to buy a gallon of whatever it is (gel, base, oil) to last me a while.

Everything I buy lasts at least 6 weeks. I buy one at a time, 2 if there is a good sale. I don't try new products unless I have to.

My conditioner and oil are hard to find so when I see them at a decent price I stock up. I just ordered 8 bottles of conditioner online, I bought 7 earlier this year when they were on clearance. I get like 3 or 4 uses out of a bottle.

Everything else I buy one at a time and i'm not real loyal to any specific product; I like to try new things

i buy one at a time unless its on sale.my products last 2-6 months. depending on how much i wash my hair.

I just buy one at a time too, when running low or "mid bottle". I do try new products if I'm really interested. I own a shampoo, a conditioner, a deep treatment, a leave-in and a few oils. They last from one to six months.

I just purchase one product at a time. I recently ran out of my DC so I purchased a bottle yesterday when I bought my relaxer kit. I usually buy a bottle of shampoo when I buy my conditioner, even though I run through conditioner faster than I run through shampoo. So sometimes I may have a bottle or two of shampoo on reserve. That's about it.

With my new product line-up. 3 conditioners, 1 shampoo, 2 grease/pomade, 1 oil mix, 1 pure oil, 2 moisturizers.

10 products in all

I purchase my products when they run out so one at a time.
