I think I already know the answer, but...can I use heat daily if I wash daily?

So I'm working out M-F. The workout itself doesn't really mess up my hair, it's the shower. I tried popping in rollers right before the shower, but the curls don't last throughout the day.

I guess I'm posting here to see what everyone has to say. Thanks

What type of work out are you doing that's not messing up your hair?

Well...it sweats, but if I don't touch my hair and let it airdry I can keep the curls for the most part. But I'm not doing a long cardio workout anyway. Just a quick high intensity interval one.

It's really the steam that's undoing the curls...and I'm not using a showercap so it's too much; think a lil bit is good for the set.

Think I'll just try again Monday with setting in rollers and will wear a showercap

Maybe you can try steam rollers after your shower? I run so I don't even try to maintain a style.

^^I'd love a bun...but my hair is short.

Thinking bout getting the back cleaned up and just making sure it lays down and then using rollers at the top. I'll see what's up on Monday.

Are you showering at home? I find that leaving the bathroom door open while showering keeps the steam from building up in the bathroom. You could also try turning on the ventaliation fan to suck some of the steam out of the room. HTH

Why don't you want to use a shower cap?

IDK I guess I thought it would mash down my hair even more. With the rollers I'm cool w/ doing it though

No I'm doing this at the gym at work.

If you keep the rollers in your hair when your shower, it will stay put. That's what I do, and I'm able to keep a straight style in my hair for a good amount of time

I would try again with the rollers in your hair, and I would look for the frou-frou jumbo sized shower caps at neighborhood 99cent or $1 stores. Those won't mash your hair down until you're APL+ and have rollers in.

They tend to be flowery and look like old-lady curtains:
