well, kinda... lol

i recently bought nubian heritage edge taming taffy during the walgreens BOGO sale & was googling for reviews, and one of the 1st links was

http://www.wavebuilder.com/training/showthread.php?t=28868

so i clicked on the review (which was pretty in-depth by the way), but basically its a lhcf for guys who want to get waves lol...

i was lurking on there for a bit & they're so into their products & have regimens like us, and use alot of the stuff we use..they even put their products and what kind of brushes they use in their siggies :giggle:

anyways, i thought it was random/cute/weird :look:...we're not alone lol

Wow they got regimens, tools, products down to a science. Interesting...

I never knew that much went into getting waves lol...I thought all they did was brush grease/pomade and durag lol...now I see how regular women not on lhcf/ a healthy hair journey would probably be overwhelmed by it all if they just browsed the hair section...

iri9109 I wondered where you went, I have always admired your hair curly and see it is really growing, it looks like you will reach BSL this year, congrats. About the original topic I turned my sons on to the 360 waves site. I don't know if they still use it or not.

Funny! They are sooo into it too. I wonder how many guys would actually admit to being a member of a hairsite though?

Good question. I wonder if it's less than the number of women who would admit to being on a hair board. Irl, I only tell people who are also into hair.

Edit:
I wonder if any of them lurk over here. I heard about their forum awhile back (on here) but don't visit it.

I'm lurking right now, they call them wave journeys. *giggles*
I just popped over there too and thought this thread title was too cute: "Would You Pass Down Your Brush You Started With To Your Kids?"

Should I be building a legacy plan for my Denman?

I'm sure it is way less men who would admit it. Imo.

they have to! i know they didnt find out about shea moisture on their own...one guy was talking about CURLS milkshake...i was just reading it like how do you know this stuff? lol

i'm not ashamed of being on a hairboard, but i also dont just openly tell people...even my friends who i'm trying to help grow & take care of their hair, i just tell them my knowledge from here, b/c if i tell them to go look on a hair board they'll just look at me like :look:

thanks! i've been busy w/ work school, but i'm finding a lil spare time to be on lhcf, mostly at random hours of the night when i should be sleep lol

I see they have debates about kinky hair vs. trying to get waves too. Lol it never ends does it?

I have no problem with my coarse hair and I love my skinny, microwaves. Idk about anyone else, but my joints are dope and I don't envy guys with wider waves. I try not too get too political on here but come on guys. Wanting less "nappy" hair and wider waves is really self-loathing. Coarse, "nappy" hair is the hair of uncut (free of other ethnicities) African blood. When we (inevitably, all things considered) started mixing with other ppl is when the curls in our hair started to get looser and longer and finer.

But anyway... Your waves will only spread out so far because it depends on your natural hair texture. You can't permanently change your texture through any means.

But I've heard they are good brushes and I'm willing to try them. I want to buy a hard and medium one, but we'll see.

For 17, I guess you got the palm one and not the long handle?

Interesting. I think dh mentioned the 360waves site to me... I gotta ask him tomorrow when hes awake :giggle: in the meantime-lemme go lurk over there & see what theyre talking about :look:

they even talk like us! not just products but the actual dialogue.

Man, I wonder if they ever worry if they are going to brush their heads raw or bald. I can only imagine how much brushing they do a day. Makes my head sore lol

Tee Hee...one of my boys has curly 3C hair, and I have his hair cut to show off his waves. You should see how all the guys get when we go to family BBQ's, and get togethers. All you hear is "Look at those Waves man!!" I don't even have to wet his hair...that's just how it grows! :giggle:

My other son has 4A hair, and he's got a Mohawk...he gets hair attention too.

Soooo, what is "wolfing"? LOL I have seen that mentioned a few times on those sites.

Its comparable to "stretching"...they go 6-8 weeks or as long as they can without getting a fresh cut, while they continue to brush their hair and train their waves lol

I've actually seen that site before and lurked for a little bit. Its actually kind of cute and is JUST like LHCF except they get a little bit more raunchier over there. But that's expected because they're guys.

I saw in one thread they had a method of brushing their hair every 3 mins for AN HOUR...I know some ppl take an hour to detangle or style, but no reason for anyone (especially a man lol) to be spending an hour on less than .5 inches of hair lol

I still think the site is hilarious, yet cute. I'm not much into waves, but it's nice that they care about having healthy looking hair.

Now I wonder if their partners know they're obsessed, and if they give their partners advice for healthy hair.
