Here are a couple of my favorite buns. 1st one is done with a Goody Flex barrette. And the second one is done with a banana clip, which you cant see because the bun is covering it.(FYI; its laying horizontal, not up and down like you would usually do with banana clips)

My favorite bun of the moment is the one in my avatar. I call it a simple high knot bun. I like it even better with air dried hair. It's very simple and quick, too. It can also be appropriate for work, dates, and everything else. I've worn it a lot lately.
