So I was browsing my FB timeline and came across a post from Elle "Denim Pixi"...she posted the following:

Again, so disappointed at the gall of some business owners! How can you call people haters when you're mixing up shea butter, glycerin, oils, lekair cholesterol conditioner, FOTE aloe vera (which isn't PURE AV FYI), and rogaine!!! You know you're wrong. And if it's you, you know I'm talking to you. I invite you to come in here and explain why it's okay to mix up "ready to wear" drugstore products with oils and resell it as your own.

She doesn't give the name of the company and I'm not in the mood to put on my detective hat... WHO SHE TALKIN BOUT?! SPILL THE TEA IMMEDIATELY PLEASE!

If a company is selling bootleg products I think we all deserve to know. Thanks in advance!

Imagine looking at an ingredients list and it says:
Lekair Cholesterol, some oils, rogain, shea-butter etc.

:lol::lol:

I was afraid of this happening. Folks see an opportunity to cash in on it (now that so many of us are staying natural). Damn shame!

Aside from the Rogaine, I make mixes like this for myself at home all the time. I just think it's ridiculous that someone would try and sell this and act like its 100% natural.
But I do think it's time that people stopped buying things from these 'gurus'.....WE HAVE ALL THE KNOWLEDGE RIGHT HERE! Making your own greases/pomades/DC's is too easy and you can make them to suit YOUR hair's needs.

These are the ingredients that she lists..

Quench is a rich souffle made of the highest quality ingredients including African shea butter, aloe vera, natural carrier oils, cholesterol, vegetable glycerin, minoxidil 2%*, vitamin E, natural preservatives, natural essential oil (EO) scents, and love !

:whyme: HydroQuench???? Or just Quench? I haven't heard of Quench...off to Google!

Ohh lawks please say it aint so

someone spill the beans!!!!
elle used to post here, havnt seen her in a long time. :ohwell:

^^^So true lesedi. Im a reformed PJ but sometimes I like to splurge and try out new, handmade product lines. This mess right here makes it hard to trust anyone.

SimJam Chilllleeee....I don't know how I feel about this. Like you stated, she didn't lie about anything. I guess we shouldn't knock her hustle...part of me is like  but the other half is all :nono:

yes it is, I don't buy pomades or butter mixes because I could make them (and I do make basic butter mixes)

but I rather buy DCs and LIs prepared by someone.... with the ingredients I know my hair likes

She'd better hope those companies don't sue her behind. It's one thing to mix some stuff up for yourself or for family/friends, but to start an actual business selling a mixture of ready made stuff :nono:

I'm waiting for one of her customers or the owner herself to come in and say they love the product:look:

How many people are gonna make a profit off basic mixtures? Wasting their time biting off of other products instead of developing their own which could be successful if only they would try.

she does mention that she uses rogaine. i would guess she buys the generic version to cut costs.

from website:

Why Quench?

* Natural vitamins, nutrients, minerals, and antioxidants feed your hair everything it needs for optimal health...and growth!

She doesn't mention the LeKair Cholesterol & it has a ton of ingredients. She can't just mention cholesterol, which out explaining what it consists of. LeKair's ingredients....

Ingredients: Purified Water, Cetyl Alcohol, Cetearyl Alcohol & PEG 40, Hydrogenated Castor Oil & Stearalkonium Choloride, Mineral oil, Cholesterol, Hydrolyzed Collagen, Citric Acid, Aloe, Jojoba Oil, Vitamin E, Acetate, Vitamin A & D, Methyl Paraben, Propyl Paraben, Tetrasodium, EDTA, FD&C Yellow #5, FD&C Red #4, Fragrance.

Someone correct me if I am wrong, but once you start using minoxidil - you're hair will fall out if you don't continue to use it right?

That is soooo uncool! :angry2: Rogaine/minoxidil though sold OTC is still a powerful drug. When I considered using it for my thinning three doctors warned me about some the risks involved with using it - especially when you stop using it. Its a commitment, not to be taken lightly.

I don't care about the other ingredients (I would never buy those types of products anyway) but the minoxidil concerns me...

You know what, I hope she is sued. Its just trifling and bad business practice to do what she is doing.

It sure will! It can also cause serious health side effects, such as:
