So...am I SL??

I'm subbing to see how this pans out. I happen to see OP is SL without any doubt. I'm about 1 1/2" beyond hers so I it's nice to know I'm almost to APL as well. Also, OP hair is natural and if fully stretched/straightened, she could very well be grazing APL already.

Just wanted to add, that if we are to keep things accurate and use the same "scale", then if one wants to pull your hair to the front, then one would get a better gauge if one turned one's head so as to bring your nape forward so that hair could be pulled straight down as in the back and not pulled forward first:

 so technical lol.

:giggle: AdoraAdora24, I love precision.

Oh and CBL is not past SL but at Full SL. The collarbone is at the same level as the lowest point of the shoulders not past the shoulder:

I do think OP is a little past CBL though because of the fact she pulled her hair forward first so lost some downward distance that way.

That collar bone is broken, right? Its shaped funny.

Question..why is the length determined by the nape hair? What if your sides are ear level? Idk how that could be shoulder length. Or maybe its just not full shoulder length

laidback, I think you're right it's broken. But I'm focusing on the lowest part of the collarbone not the top part that goes up. Central part where it dips down is what is at the level of the lowest part of the the shoulder:

@puffball, that's what LHCF decided to use as their scale. Those of us who don't cut hair to fall to one level would never get to a point where all the hair reaches one uniform length. So we use the nape not to compare with anyone else but for each person to gauge his or her own progress. We can tell our hair is growing when the area we select changes in length over time. On LHCF we use nape.

Folks who cut hair to fall to one length (usually relaxed folks) will always have short hair at the nape and long hair at the crown.

For those of us who want all our strands to be the same length coz we favor afros and like styles, there will never be a time where the sides will reach the same place as the back. You could say we have our hair "cut in layers". :giggle:

So for the sake of uniformity and tracking progress how far the hair at the nape reaches is how we track progress on LHCF. *shrug*

Oh I didn't mean in reference to any length determination. I don't care about all that. I just obsevered that it looked broken.

Well in that case... I'm calling my hair shoulder length this week. My hair has been short all my life. Damaged, weak and breaking. Only like two inches.

I never know what to call my length but in a couple months I'ma totally start claiming shoulder length!!!
