cheerrette, I installed the free kindle app, registered it and then clicked on OP link to purchase it. It then automatically loaded to my iPhone. At first it didn't work but the app gave instructions for what to do if it didn't work.

ETA: I just saw your post ^^^^. I'm glad you figured it out.
