and nice the next day!!!! Everytime I twist my hair and then go to sleep, the next day it's looks ratty. How do I fix tis?:nono:

^ I think you answered your own question. Wearing a satin cap to sleep reduces the amount of friction between your hair and the pillow making your twists more likely to look nice and neat come morning time.

And make sure you do a "tight" twist making sure it's not a "hurry up and get to the end" twist.

You can also ponytail your twists, flat wrap them around your head, or bantu-knot them loosely to help reduce the friction. I prefer to wear a scarf to keep the frizz at bay for as long as I can.

^Like Nelle said, a scarf does a better job over a cap. A secure scarf will make sure the twists are laid down flat so they come out neat in the morning. You can also tie them up in a ponytail or wrap them before tying them down.

I think this is the key. Naptural85 has a really good video on how to twisy properly. I used to wonder how people got their twists to last, until i used her method.

I'm on my phone and can't post the link right now, I can come back and post it later if you can't find it.

A silk scarf is a must. In the morning wet your hands with water then run them through your hair to fluff and finger comb your twists and give them a fresh look. For a bit of hold use a dab of aloe gel instead of water.

I agree with the wearing of a satin/silk scarf to bed, and to review your method of twisting. My question is tho, what products do you use to twist? That also affects how long your twists will stay looking fresh.

My twists turn out best when I add oil to the styling cream or seal with oil. I also prefer twisting on wet hair, which causes shrinkage but has a sleeker look.

Does anyone blowdry their hair before twisting? If so, does it help with prolonging the life-span of the twists and helping them to look neater for longer?
