If you use them, what do you personally like to add to them? I decided to buy a half gallon of some conditioner base last night because I use a lot of conditioner and I'm hoping it'll last me for a minute and I don't have to go out to the store to buy conditioner every week or every other week.

So...what do you add to your conditioner bases to make them awesome?

Ill probably mix mine when I use it...so instead of mixing the whole half gallon with stuff, ill mix up what I plan to use when I actually need it

Just tryna get some ideas!

I only used mine once, only added fragrance. I plan to add coffee butter, and if not rancid :look: palm oil

I added a couple things to mine, but nothing special. I added every oil I own (grapeseed, jojoba, hemp, and so on) and some henna powder. I also added aloe vera juice

Sent from my iPhone using LHCF

I havent had to mix my base with anything if i do fancy something different it will prob be honey or coconut milk :yep:

I have a bunch of fragrance oils i mix in as well

Where are the rest of ya'll getting your bases from?

Have any of you used one of the bases from Organic Creations? Correct me if I'm wrong, but it doesn't look like their bases have any conditioning agents (cetyl alcohol, cetearyl alcohol, BTMS, etc) in them so I wonder how conditioning they are? The ingredients list reads more like a good moisturizer...can someone chime in?...

TIA!

I use Glycerin and Oil (Olive and Coconut) to Aussie 3 min or Lekair Cholesterol

Wow that's cool!

I've been using Queen Helene cholesterol as a DC base (both proetin and moisture DC).
I've also been using Suave Tropical Coconut Condish as my poo, condish and moisturizer base.

What's the consistency of it? Is the base thick like cholesterol or creamy? Or is it runny like a rinse out/leave in condish?

i'm not sure what the consistency is...i havent gotten it yet! lol. i'm thinking it wont be super thick, but also not super runny...at least that's what i'm HOPING anyway.

i was looking at some btms on lotioncrafter to add to it.

i'll probably just add things i have at home to start and worry about buying new things to mix in later.

I have added glycerin, fragrance oils, EOs, and vegetable oils to my base in the past:) Not necessarily all at once. For example, if I wanted to up the moisture I might add fragrance oil and glycerin.

@JulietWhiskey

who is that in your siggy?[/QUOTE]

I have no idea! :lachen:

See, what had happened was, I was reading an article on wikipedia about "Afro Hair" (:look: I just wanted to see what "they" had to say) and this woman's picture was showcased as an example. I immediately fell in love with the picture and with her hair and with her beautiful face and hands!

All I know is the picture is titled "Madagascan Woman" so I assume this woman was from Madagascar. It was taken at the turn of the last century.

HTH!

Kurlee how has that been working for you? I was looking for a conditioner I can use to do Amla & Bringaraj glosses with as well as Cassia glosses. What is the consistency and how does it feel on your hair?

My Friend,

I found this link to that woman's picture:

It really depends on what my hair needs at the time:

Honey
Molasses
Yogurt
Oils (olive, coconut, grape seed mostly)
Melted butters (shea, mango)

JulietWhiskey - The woman in your signature is beautiful!

I think so, too!

At first, the only pictures I could find were way to big to use for my signature but recently, when I checked on a whim, I found one that would fit!

Her hair is just awesome!
