LA LOOKS SPORT GEL!?

Anyone use this stuff ? I found out about it over at NC.com a while back and I finally decided to give it a shot and it is nothing short of amazing. My hair is NEVER this tame and moisturized (unless I set it or flat iron it lol). I am a very frizzy, very dry, very product intolerant 3b. Tried KCCC before, DISASTER, my hair despised it. Tried Ecostyler, hair hated that as well. Recently tried KCKT, did nothing. I've also tried Miss Jessie's Curly Pudding years ago, just awful stuff :nono:. Mousses are also a failure. My hair seems to despise most products but the La Looks Sport (blue gel) has not zapped the moisture out, and has major hold yet without major crispness. My hair is SHINY, laying down, soft and just looks cohesive I can't even understand this lol. Plus, you get a HUGE bottle and it's soo cheap! I am sooooo pleased with this. I hope this isn't a fluke.
Please try this stuff, if you don't like you can always return it and if you can't you're only out like 3 bucks for a huge bottle lol.

I'm sooo sorry for lack of pics, I have no camera except my comp cam and it would not do my hair justice at all.

I've been using LA looks sport gel for about a year and a half. I must say I LOVE it! It's my HG for twistouts and braidouts. When using this gel, my braidouts last 7-8 days at a time with minimal frizz. It has firm hold, but doesn't get crunchy or stiff at all. I'm glad someone else uses LA looks sport gel, it's good stuff!

ETA: I use kinky curly knot today and whipped shea butter under this gel. That may be why it doesn't dry my hair out.

It dries the crap out of my hair:nono:

I haven't used it in a while...i still have the same bottle from last summer:lol:...maybe i'll give it a second chance with more conditioner left in underneath. I used to LOVE the LA Nutra-Curl one tho, in the bright green bottle...but then i discovered the EcoStyler w/argan oil...i might try it again this summer:yep:.

I've been so in love with my Noodle Head curl cream i totally forgot about gel! Lol!

I'm more of a 3c/4a... If I moisturize REALLY REALLY WELL underneath it will hold curls but it dries my hair out something terrible I think with full 3c's and below it's probably amazing

Haha...I think that's the gel my mother and I (and I think my stepmother) used back yeaaars ago...when I was in elementary school. I don't use any gel now. I've been thinking of making some flaxseed...but generally, I'm a no gel kinda gal.

That's the gel my husband and I use to smooth our pony tails, I'm mostly 3c and he has... well his curls have about a 2-3 in diameter (I've forgotten the curl type).

Its works great for our ponys but I've never tried it in a wash and go.
I haven't experianced any dryness but I don't use much, and its always on soaking wet hair with conditioner.

SerenavanderWoodsen

This is all your fault!.....................

I resurrected my bottle of Sports gel last nite to do my wash n go....and....i actually like it now! It's not so bad!

BUT!!! I only like it because i have to leave more conditioner in, underneath it...and not use so much of it (the gel)..and lightly rinse out any excess. it wasn't bad at all...i even diffused last nite and my hair wasn't super dried out...it had a nice hold and it kinda felt the same as if i were to use my beloved Noodle Head cream:grin:

I'm not afraid anymore! So i will be using this bottle up:) Thanks for reminding me of it!

this was one of the first gels i tried when I BCd, defined my curls well but dried my hair out something terrible.

I may try this again with a good leave in and butter underneath to do twist/braidouts

I'm on 3rd day hair with this, just a little water to reactivate. I have NEVER used anything that tamed my hair like this. It's sheer magic for my hair.

Okay, it was NOT a fluke at all. Washed my hair again last night and used this gel with NOTHING under it, not even a serum and my results were about 10 times more amazing! My hair is SHINY in a curly state, this does not happen unless it's shortly after a wash and maybe still a bit damp. My next day hair is amazing. This stuff is nothing short of a MIRACLE to my hair, HG status, this has my love forever and ever !
I can't believe something so cheap,,, when such pricey things such as KCCC were like trash in my hair lol. So happy about this.

I feel like throwing all my products out except for my Chi Infusion, Paul Mitchelll Super Skinny and this! Might just do it too , clear up some space lol.
I have some full bottles of Herbal Essences Totally Twisted Mousse and other stuff, all of which dried my hair out, I need to put it all up for sale or just give it away lol...

I did a wash and go with it before work tonight and it is really awesome :D
This will make summer a breeze.
I left a bit of dove moisture conditioner under it and put a bit of GVP chi silk infusion over it.... I used way to much gel but there is barely any crunch!

Just because you are my hair twin  I have to page @Pokahontas, have you tried this gel? If not please try it and report back :D, it's cheap!
Ok well you've maybe convinced me lol:grin:. Since it's so cheap and all. I will be highly upset if it works better than KCCC since I not long ago bought a new jar. I'll probably try when I start back doing wng's for the summer. I usually need a stronger gel for humid weather....do you think this would be good for that? I don't really like for my curls to be hard though. I'll never forget the time i used way too much kccc and I had the worst curls of my life:nono:

I tried the yellow bottle version of this gel. It gave me great curl definition without frizzies but it did dry me out a bit. Still better then some other more expensive gels I've tried in the past.

I walked and sweated pretty heavily today with only this in my hair, not even a serum or leave in under, came home and looked into the mirror... shiny soft hair , this in UNREAL for me lol. I so hope it works for you. I am so overjoyed that it's not a pricey product. This stuff makes the hair shiny somehow but without grease, idk it's just magic I cannot give this enough raves!

I have the yellow as well but it did not work like this one or it could have just been that my hair was so damaged from the flat ironing... idk.. i notice the ingredients are extremely similar. I'm sticking with the Sport now though .

I do not find it drying at all which is amazing because I'm telling you EVERYTHING dries my hair, it could be the most seemingly innocuous mixture, it will dry my hair out, I've posted before about how my hair hates EVERYTHING, no matter how pricey, how natural, whatever lol. Nothing has worked in years so I gave up on it being curly at all and just flat ironed/rollerset. :(
This, so far is the first holding product that my hair welcomes with open arms. I wonder what ingredients my hair is loving so much here in a junky gel :perplexed.
Starting to sound like I own the company now, I know .

For anyone who is trying it, one thing that is probably important is to apply it in sections. I soak my hair after it's been washed and then make sections ( not tiny or anything) and comb through, apply gel generously, comb through again, then when all finished I tie a scarf on just to really keep it flat while it dries part of the way. This way, I get shiny, semi soft curls, I don't even know where the shine is coming from .
