I am in LOVE with KeraCare products!!!

I use and love:
KeraCare 1st Lather Shampoo
KeraCare Hydrating Detangling Shampoo
KeraCare Natural Textures Leave In
KeraCare Overnight Moisturizing Treatment

My hair has never been better!

Which KeraCare products do you use and which are you interested in? Let's use this thread to ask questions about different KeraCare products.

I liked their Hydrating Detangling Shampoo but I wouldn't trade my staple for it. KeraCare Dry & Itchy Scalp Moisturizing Conditioner is a staple but my scalp is getting a little immune so I'm giving it a break and I hated the matching shampoo. I'm interested in the Humecto Creme Conditioner in the tub but I'll probably never buy it.

1st lather
hydrating
humecto
leave-in
wrap foam lotion
essential oil
creme hairdress
moisturizer
oil sheen
i have all of these products and love them a lot.

I used to use Humecto and haven't used that in a while. This is making me think of using this again.

The hydrating shampoo is a staple of mine and has been for about 3 yrs now. Don't really use anything else from that line.

Itchy scalp shampoo
Hydrating detangling shampoo
Itchy scalp glossifier

Sent from my iPhone using LHCF

Hydrating Detangling 'Poo & the giant tub of Humecto doctored up w/MSM & Camellia oil. Love that stuff - both are staples. I have the Super Reconstructor but haven't tried it yet (waiting to get the 5-in-1), and I have the Leave-in Condish but only use it sparingly with a super-charged protein L/I (Salerm + other stuff that escapes me) when I need an extreme protein boost. The creme hairdress worked for a hot minute then I found something better.

I was interested in the Essential Oils & the Oil Moisturizing (w/jojoba), but after a few bad reviews on Amazon, I'm cool on that. Suffering from a massive case of PJism, don't think I'll venture out on any new KC products. I'm very happy w/what I've got and what it does.

I love the Hydrating Detangling shampoo
Humecto
Moisturizing conditioner (the one for colored hair)

i used to use the hair oil but I use the Sally's brand Proclaim Argan Oil treatment instead.

I very rarely use other shampoos.
I was about to try Laila Ali's line at Walmart/Target bc it has Carboxilic acid in it as well (sp).

I like the Humecto conditioner in the tub. It lasts forever.

I actually like all of their conditioners.

WanakeeWannaBe,

This is by far my favorite hair moisturizer used along with jbco as my sealant. Keracare has changed the formula and I absolutely love what they have done with it. It leaves my hair even softer than my beloved Alba Botanica leave-in and Taliah Waajid PMB (old formula).

You might want to try this for yourself. Besides, you don't know for sure if those products sold on Amazon are authentic, expired or used by African-American reviewers. I take all these thing into consideration when I look at reviews. Also, you don't know for sure how your hair will like it. Give it a try - purchase the small bottle if you must, but try it for yourself:yep:.

Okay now let's see, hmmm.

I have and use Keracare:

1st Lather Shampoo - this is now sulfate-free and leaves my hair squeaky squeaky clean and must be followed up with the detangling & hydrating poo.

Hydrating and Detangling Moisture Shampoo - also sulfate-free and restores the moisture to my hair immediately after putting it in my hair. Has lots of suds and makes my hair feel really nice and soft. I really  this one:yep:.

Leave-In Conditioner - creamy texture, smells heavenly:lick: and works well at protecting the hair from UV ray damage, moisturizes as well and great for blow-drying too.

Defining Custard - All I can say is WOW! I never had any faith in high end branded styling creams and custards, but after trying this one, I changed my mind. It defines well but with a slight hold which is exactly what I was looking for so it is perfect for my hair when I want to pull it back in an afro puff. A little goes a long way too and is best used over the leave-in or oil moisturizer with jojoba oil to avoid any crunchiness.

Edge Tamer - Okay, if you have not found your perfect edge tamer, give this one a try - seriously! It works at taming those edges ladies. I have texlaxed hair and it is not easy to tame but this has helped tremendously.

Oil Moisturizer with Jojoba Oil - I found this one was so expensive in my opinion for a daily moisturizer and as a result, I really did NOT want to like it but everyday I put this thing on, the more I like it. So sad:sad:. Now I am looking forward to getting another bottle. I only purchase large sizes, by the way.

Intense Restorative Masque - Nice! It strengthens the hair very well, stopping breakage and works well with the 1st Lather poo and hydrating & detangling poo. This would be a great strengthener for both natural and relaxed hair. I'd follow it up with something moisturizing.

Humecto Creme Conditioner - is the something moisturizing I was referring to following the Restorative Masque. Now this conditioner is not too heavy in texture but neither is it very light so this makes it perfect for all hair types. It leaves my hair super soft and it is awesome with a steamer. I bought the bucket of this one:grin:.

Super Reconstructor - I have it but have not yet used it. It is a hardcore protein and I am not due for one yet, so we shall see ow well it works and I will have to give an update then.

Silken Seal Liquid Sheen - this does leave the hair shiny but I found it was only for the day. It didn't carry over to the next day for me and this could be because it is pretty light which is perfect for straightened hair. But then again I have only used it on dry hair so far and it can be used on wet hair in a rollerset as well. I don't rollerset my hair.

Oil Sheen with Humidity Block - I have not yet used this one because I have not straightened my hair in ages. But I probably will sometime in April.

Anti-Dandruff Spot Itch Lotion - I bought this when I had a weave in December and it actually works. I have to admit, that shocked me!

Affirm is from this line so I have used the Affirm 5 in 1 Reconstructor as someone else mentioned and it is also pretty good for relaxed hair for reconstructive purposes.

Affirm Sustenance - this is my post-relaxer 5 minute pre-treatment. I specifically bought it for this purpose but it can be used as a regular protein treatment as well. It keeps my hair on my head is all I can say about it:drunk:.

Affirm Moisturcolor Conditioner For Color Treated Hair - I am still on the fence about this one as I have only used it once and it's a little stickyish in texture and it I guess it did it's job but I was concentrating too much on how sticky it felt in my hands. I have to give this one a fair chance before I can come to a sound decision on it. To be honest I think I bought the wrong color treated conditioner. I will have to look into this:look:.

I use the whole Affirm Creme Relaxer System as well and love it. That's it for now.

Natural textures defining custard -used this before and just reordered to make a final decision
Its similar to kccc if you like that texture but its MUCH more moisturising imo as it has oils in there
Hold is the same as ecco my wash and wears last all week with no problem
There is no tackiness with this either unlike with kccc there was alot of tack to me
It washes out easy and doesnt leave hair dry

Natural textures leave in -Love this smells great great slip last for ages moisturises great i have the curl junkie smoothing lotion and its sooooo crap imo keracare wins allday every day! just buy it:look::lol:

Edge tamer + Edge define (syntonics)- The keracare version smells perfumey with this make sure you dont use too much you need such a small amount whatever is in this slicked back my natural hair like i had a relaxer :yep:

Too much will make hair hard so be careful use with a good leave in

Havent used the syntonics version yet but i prefer the smell it has a slight peppermint smell but its not super strong i imagine once in the hair it fades well

Keracare naturals twist and define cream - Ill be back to review this its sitting in my cupboard

1st Lather Shampoo - I love it, but don't use it consistently.
Hydrating Detangling Shampoo - Hands down, my absolute favorite shampoo!
Humecto conditioner - The white bottle is theeee best. I like the gold bottle, too. But, the white bottle gives the better slip especially when it gets deep into the stretch.

Those are my favs. I used to use the leave in when I air dried, but I haven't revisited it in a year or so.

Aggie had no idea you were a keracare lover

I use the Keracare Humecto conditioner but I only use this to mix with my protein conditioners. It gives my hair a nice balance.

I have used and liked the silken seal liquid sheen. Great for straight styles only.

Next, I will try the intense restorative masque and the edge tamer!

KeraCare was my go to when I was relaxed. My stylist used Affirm Sensitive Scalp and styled with KeraCare, and I used KeraCare to maintain. I used KeraCare pretty much exclusively from the time I was 14 until the time I BCed, when I was a few months shy of 25.

I loved and still love KeraCare. However, the items I use have changed. When I was relaxed I used the Hydrating Detangling Shampoo, Humecto, and Silken Seal Liquid Sheen. The Detangling Hydrating Shampoo does just what it claims it will. Humecto was the bomb, and the Silken Seal was a great heat protectant.

Now that I'm natural I still use the Liquid Sheen. I also use the KeraCare Silken Seal (serum), the Oil Sheen, the Setting Lotion, the Essential Oils and sometimes the Creme Press. The Silken Seal is great for blowdrying. Now when I straighten my hair I use the Silken Seal serum first, before blowdrying, then I spray the Liquid Sheen between the blowdry and flat iron process. Makes my hair look like it's still relaxed (see signature).Sometimes, I might use the Essential Oils SPARINGLY on the ends to smooth them a bit more. I only use the Creme Press if I'm using a curling iron. It has a lot of hold and a little goes a really long way.

The Setting Lotion is absolutely fantastic. It makes my hair silky soft with body. It's the only thing I'll use for rollersets.

The only thing I've tried from KeraCare that I didn't love was the Oil Sheen. It says to use sparingly, and that's definitely correct. It makes my hair kind of stiff. It is shiny, but something about it...I don't know. If I ever use it up I won't repurchase.

Also, for those who didn't know, the scientist behind the line As I Am Naturally is the founder of KeraCare. So if you wear your hair curly or in it's natural state and you like or liked KeraCare, check out that line as well.

KeraCare was great when I had relaxed hair. The whole line were pretty much staples especially the Humecto conditioner. Doesn't do much for my natural hair unfortunately, but I haven't tried the newer natural line.

I like the hydrayting shampoo and Humecto. I really like the Everyday buttercream. It's really moisturizing. I bought my second bottle this week. I also like the Affirm 5 in 1.

It's really beneficial for my hair.

Oh yeah PinkPebbles, I'm a KeraCare Lover.

I have been adding them slowly to my regimen for almost 6 months and know that they are now staples along with Aubrey Organics HSR, WC and GPB conditioners only.

I just added Kerastase Age Premium (Substantif) poo & Masque and getting ready to add a couple more in this line. I am replacing my Moroccanoil products with Kerastase.

I also like a few of the Redken Masks and treatments - at least 3 of them - the Smooth Down, All Soft and Extreme. I am going to stick to using products that work for my hair. I can't speak for anybody else, but KeraCare is one of my staples.

Oh I almost forgot, my ceramide conditioners will primarily be Matrix Biolage Balms and Masques -I always loved these! SilK Dreams is slowly winning me over:grin:.

I used to have at least 25+ different brands of products in my stash, now I've reduced it to 6 or 7. That's enough for me.

I love love love KeraCare!

I love the Overnight Moisturizing Treatment. It's my fav! I also love their Essential Oils. I use it for sealing and the 4 oz bottle has lasted me such a long time.

I also use the Hydrating and Detangling shampoo, First Lather Shampoo, Intensive Restorative Masque, and Humecto. When I'm in the mood for heavy sealing I use the High Sheen Glossifier. When I'm having flaking issues I use the Dry and Itchy Scalp high sheen glossifier.

I've been using a mixture of the Humecto and Intensive Restorative Masque to deep condition for the last 2 weeks. It left my hair feeling so silky so I'm going to continue using it. I usually alternate using either one but I want to give my hair the best of both worlds EVERY week.

I also want to try the conditioner for color-treated hair mainly because it has ceramides as one of the main ingredients.

I love my little army of champagne bottles.

Oooh I really want the bolded @Raine054, but everytime I tried to order it from our local distributor, they were always out of stock.

As for the color treated conditioner, I was not a great fan of it so gave it away to a friend of mine who's hair is bleached and she likes it. Looks like I'll be needing that high sheen glossifer though:grin:.

Hi ladies:

Wanted to know if any of you have experienced dry, matted hair after using the
Sulfate Free Keracare Shampoo? My hair is relaxed.

Thanks!
Ann
